No Bearing In Diff-Tail Shaft?

Recommended Posts

Took the engine and gear box last night, and has to remove the tail shaft today to transport it easily....

I was under the impression that they should be either caps full of bearings or bearings between the tail shaft and diff?

Looking in the end of the tail shaft there is like a dome (is this a cap?)

Cheers

Tom

I'm lost.

tailshaft will have uni joints at each end, and slide clean into the gbox one end, and bolt to the diff the other.

some tailshafts will have a bearing in the centre and bolt to the floor of the car but not all.

only other bearings will be inside the diff and inside the gearbox...

cheers, andy
