4A-Fe And 4A-Ge

Featured Replies

Hey guys

I'm about to get an AE92 Seca with a 4AFE.

I am looking to rebuild/recondition the motor just to keep it going for many thousands of kms.

Is it possible to rebuild a 4AFE with 4AGE internals eg pistons, rods, rings, bearings?

As i have heard the only difference is the intake cam spins backwards on the 4AFE and i can't see why the 4AGE internals wouldn't fit.

If it's not possible, are there any manafacturers that make rebuild kits for a 4AFE as i can only find them in America.

Any extra info would be great.

Cheers

welcome to rollaclub mate.

dunno if its possible, but i woudlnt bother.

where have you tried looking for rebuild kits for your 4afe?

best bet is to go and chat to your local engine machine shop, they will supply anything you need. and you can get your machining done there while your at it.

the 4age and 4afe are very different, some parts will be interchangable, its not just about the "cam spinning backwards". just get the correct parts from the get go.

I have tried looking on the net, car magazines, etc.

ahh alrighty. thanks heaps mate :laff:

For the cost of rebuilding 4a-fe, you could probably buy a 4a-ge.

Just saying is all.
