OniBerserker Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 (edited) man I'm so happy to get another rolla again $400 yeah its a KE70 with a 4 speed and a 4k engine, but i will be swapping the ke55 5 speed gearbox and loads of other stuff like timing chain, cam, carby, wheels, list goes on hopefully it will be pretty cool. i hope front wheel bearings arn't hard to fix il have photos up soon... when its delivered man building cars on centerlink pay is a bastard Edited November 20, 2008 by OniBerserker Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 The KE55 box wont bolt straight into the KE70 unfortunately. You need to find a KE70 5 speed extension housing. Or modify crossmembers and cut a new hole in the floor. I have a KE70 5Speed We can swap extension housings if you want. Since I want mine to bolt into a KE30 and you want one for the KE70. Just postage then. Wheel bearings really are very very easy. And take all of 20 minutes per side to do. Quote
OniBerserker Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 I just got the ke70 manual and it looks like a piece of piss, sounds pretty good RB I'm going to be takin the box out this weekend so il tell you how it goes. I'm in c'town by the by Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Maybe because it's late...I dunno....I had to read that 4 times before I realised RB is me haha... and C'town by the by??? wtf Quote

OniBerserker Posted December 18, 2005 Author Report Posted December 18, 2005 (edited) don't worry mate you'll pick it up. I'm in ambarvale theres a pic i attached, i'll never figure out how to post them  hey that seemed to work... trippy the bonnets black now, and I'm going to bring it lower to the ground the old fashioned way, coil at a time chop chop thinkin about new wheels or extractors and a new carb or lumpier cam or swaybars and bushes. the list goes on but unfortunatly the money doesn't Edited December 18, 2005 by OniBerserker Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 Did you paint the bonnet black so it drifts better? Quote
ancullen Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 That paint job in the picture above looked fine. So why the hell would you go and ruin it by painting the bonnet black??? Quote
OniBerserker Posted December 20, 2005 Author Report Posted December 20, 2005 how bout cause i can, plus the fact that it looks pretty cool even if it does make me look like a dick and drift? ha not without a better diff, and a five speed. its a bit of a backyard bodgejob thing, but I'm going to do the car up good - i don't really care what it looks like. ke70's arn't as good looking as ke55's. point of fact Quote
gtnickk Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 Hey wait don't knock the ke70's it was produced in the 80's and does not have the rounded styling of the ke55. In fact if you wont to get pandantic the ke55 was like a halfway point between the ke30 and ke70. In a sense the engine and mechanicals are rather the same. The only difference is the stlying. I think ke70 are the bomb followed by ke30's 20's 10's, 55's are at the bottom of the list but that is because i don't think there was anything special about them. This is just my opinion but honeslty all rolla's are cool this is just my order of prefrence if i were to buy one. :S Quote
OniBerserker Posted December 26, 2005 Author Report Posted December 26, 2005 i miss my old car i saw a ke30 for $1150 in the trading post manual with rego till march damn tax check not back yet hey I'm not saying their crap, corolla are in great. and its true, the older the better, power/weight ratio never lies Quote
boofis Posted December 26, 2005 Report Posted December 26, 2005 (edited) and its true, the older the better, power/weight ratio never lies Yeah, but the design of susp./steering is shit on real old ones imo. But if you're willing to do the work hell yes the early ones are so sweet looking. Edited December 26, 2005 by boofis Quote
OniBerserker Posted May 22, 2006 Author Report Posted May 22, 2006 (edited) I'm buying heavy duty valve springs and getting my cam reground, cleaning up the head getting extractors and exhaust then il fix the suspension with swaybars bushes and lowered springs and new shocks il get back to you guys then Edited February 5, 2009 by OniBerserker Quote
