69 Corona Mk2 Mirrors.

Hey all,

Well I have a mate with a 1969 RT60 Toyota Corona Mark II, he kinda used it as a paddock basher and now the old 7R has seemed to shit itself. Now I know these are an extremely rare car in Australia, and he said I could get what ever I wanted off it. I got those Mirrors that go half way down your bonnet, and was wondering if they are legal? Oh and does anyone know whether RT61 Coronas have the same panels as RT60 MKII? I was thinking of buying the whole car off him and doing it up, but yeah parts might kill me.

Thanks,

Brad

i believe no, guard mirrors are not legal here, because of the risk to pedestrians (you know, those silly mofos who walk in the road and jump onto your bonnet then are all like "he hit me, he hit me")

you can still find bits for old coronas, people like the rising sun collectors register and jon from the japanese restorer should be able to help you. you will be very hard pressed to find them on the internet, that's for sure

Ah damn, I was going to stick them on my KE35 hehe, and see how they looked. Do you know how much I can get for the mirrors like do you reckon anyone will buy them? Well it's a bit of a shame he has a rare MK2 Corona sitting in the paddock rusting away, damn I wish parts were more accessable.

if you google for allan taylor, or his phone number has been posted on here several times, you'll be able to get in touch with someone who has a conception of how much those parts are worth, or may at least put you in touch with someone who can take the wreck off your hands and use the parts, which is what it's all about. give him a ring
