phil86 Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Before you all kill me, I only want to know about the tie rod/rack ends when doing an s13 hub conversion to a ke70, is the only problem with stock ones that they are too short ie could the problem be solved by lengthening them and or rose joint? Or us better just to use aw11 rack ends and s13 tie rods? Quote
19914afc Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Click for info Click on this link then there is an abundance of the same questions one of the first links for toymods has the info in there, otherwise if you can't view that there is the next one on ae86DC which should work fine as you shouldn't need to be a member. look at that a whole thread on ae86dc about it 10 pages long! link!!!!!! phil86 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks I have already read that and it is quite useful however everyone there talks about ra60 rack ends or aw11 etc no one has mentioned lengthening and/or rose joint the ke70 tie rods etc. my question is can that be done? Will it work? If it can be done and will work then why haven't people done it? Is it too expensive or too much of a hassle? Sorry if this is stupid but thanks for the help :) Quote
19914afc Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Just use the stuff that people know works, makes things easier. Quote
phil86 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Ok so aw11 mr2 inner rack ends and s13 silvia outer tie rods? Quote
19914afc Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Can use them or you can also use ra60 celica rack ends with Bluebird TRX tierod ends. (model 910, series 1, 2 or 3) Quote
phil86 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Chers for the help, wouldn't be able to recommend a brake booster as I'm running sr20 brakes would you? Quote
ke70dave Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) booster is fine. master cylinder is what you might need. search around about using an "r32 skyline non ABS master cylinder" i recall that being a good option. find out how big the standard sr20 s13 master cylinder is, and then find something that bolts on and has the ports in about the same spot. read that massive thread on ae86Dc again, i thought it was covered in there. (though i havent read it for years) loooky: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/54438-ae86-s13-front-suspensionbrake-conversion/ Edited January 11, 2012 by ke70dave Quote
phil86 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Damn ok I thought it was the booster my bad Quote
phil86 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 My bad you are right Dave it needs to be a 15/16ths master. Would you know which master is that size and has ports in similar location? Quote
