Majestic36 Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) Hi, Ive read all the post about springs lowering etc, but I'm still trying to work out a good lowered spring size etc for my ke70 Would 220mm free height springs with 6kg spring rate be a good start for lowering? Ive currently got standard springs in the front and cut Falcon springs in the rear. I want the car dropped 60mm on each side, also the size of rim/tyre thats on the front is 175/65/14 Any help? been confusing myself more and more, does the spring free height give you a rough indication of how low it will sit? Cheers. Edited January 29, 2012 by Majestic36 Quote

You can calculate spring rates here. http://www.stockcarproducts.com/pstech10.htm Coils that sit on the seat or are touching the next coil are not 'active', so count the coils in between. The stock springs we took off the KE70 were free height front 363mm, rear368mm The ride height was front 635mm, rear 645mm The short springs we replaced them with were front 335mm (one coil off) rear 342mm (one & half coils off) The ride height was then 610mm both ends. The suspension is firm, almost stiff, I wouldn't want it any harder. More choppy than the Altezza, which is what 20years of suspension engineering does! Edited October 4, 2024 by altezzaclub Quote
