1G-Ge Ke35

Featured Replies

Hi guys just after info on a soarer 1G-GE motor I am currently rebuilding it and plan on using it in my ke35 hardtop and I know I can legally do it and still get it registered but i'm wondering what manual gearbox can I use with the 1G-GE motor and what sort of diff setup will I need for it this motor will be pumping out close to 300bhp when its done

A w58 will do the trick for those kind of numbers, r31 or hilux diff conversion should suffice also.

Because the 1GGE is an atmo engine (and only a 2.0L at that) putting out around 110kw at the flywheel. If you want to get 300hp (220kw) at the wheels then you'd almost certainly have to turbocharge it, in which case you might as well just get a factory-turbocharged 1GGTE to begin with. That and they're a bit more common than the 1GGE (because we're talking imports here, generally the performance variants were imported more than the base models), and not exactly expensive anyway (they're a common swap into old-skool Celicas and Coronas).
