TOMMYS Ke 11 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Hi all i have a 2t-geu motor with the yamaha head on it and was wondering what gear box would mount on to it 4/5speed any information greatly appreciated thank you. Cheers:- Stuart. Quote
snot35 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 You'll be wanting a T40 or T50 with a bell housing to suit a T motor. So a box from a TA22 or TE72 would do you. Quote
TOMMYS Ke 11 Posted March 3, 2012 Author Report Posted March 3, 2012 So is the bell housing on the 3t the same bolt pattern? Cheers:- Stuart. Quote
SLW42 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Yeah the 3t bellhousing is the same..... 2tg 3tc... Both t series motors bud Quote
TOMMYS Ke 11 Posted March 3, 2012 Author Report Posted March 3, 2012 Thanks for the information fellas, helps heaps as i havent had any thing to do with these engines before and i didnt want to go to the trouble of pulling the motor and gearbox out of the t18 only to find it was differant pattern to the 2t-gue so thanks again and as always there is always some one on rollaclub with the right information. :y: Cheers:- Stuart. styler Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) Theres early and late t engine series gearboxes though, both have t series bellhousing but the early one has a shorter extension housing on the back and the later one has a longer extension housing so shifter positions are different. Then after that came the later t50 series gearboxes with 22 spline rear and bigger input shaft bearing. Edited March 5, 2012 by styler Quote
SLW42 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Celica t series gearboxes have a different shifter setup to a t18 t series gearbox which as styler said the celica's shifter position is further forward than the t18 which maybe an issue, but a trim job on the transmission tunnel will quickly solve Quote
