I know some people are feeding twin carbs with the stock K fuel pump. Anyone know the HP or flow limit of a stock pump before you actually have to install an electronic?

i know to run 40mm webber carbs on a 4ac/4age youd want a 4psi elec pump not sur eon the size of ur twin carbs on a 4k and i don't know the pressur eof the standard pump but I'm sure you would want to get a slightly higher intesity pump

Thought I that my old 5k running 3k-b carbies felt stronger in the top end when it was fitted with the electric pump. So I would guess that the standard pumps limit is low.

Delivery pressure is 20-30 kPa depending on the strength of the spring.

Yeah I might have to go electric, I'm thinking of boost.... :D

I run a stock pump without a single problem. Twin dellorto's running 4psi and 68rwkw.

 

Never had any reason to suspect they're running out of juice at the top end.

The stock fuel pump delivers 900cc per minute at 2900rpm

Its pressure 3 to 4.3 psi.

 

On a ke30 if you unscrew the fuel pump inlet connection you will see a restriction, If you have a old inlet manafold lying around, you can remove the connection for the power booster unscrew that, drill it out and install on to the fuel pump inlet to replace the restrictive one.

Well that works out to 170 horsepower using injector maths. If you can run your k engine hard enough to starve you're doing pretty damn good.
