Gday all,

New to the site and heard this place is the best to come to for rolla related tech. So heres the story.

I have a 4k 5sp engine and box in my 82 Suzuki sierra conversion was done by previous owner and wireing is very dodge. Would like to no where is (if there is) the switch/solinoid for the reverse lights can't seem to find it box is out of car atm and not hooked to power (obviously). Pic would be great if you could.

Also few questions about getting a few more herbs out of the old 4k donk but will have a bit more of a snooparound the forum before i ask a second noobie question.

Few pics are where the car is at (fully rebuilding it.)

Doug.

What the 1300cc's of goodness does to a standard sierra transfercase.

Hey mate,

Reverse switch is normally on the driver side of the extension housing. Its a 21mm nut/sensor looking thing with 2x bullet terminals sticking out of it. Polarity doesn't matter when wiring it up. Depending what box you have the could be 1 or 2 other 21mm nut/sensors screwed into the top of the box, but they both only have 1x wire/terminal each so identifying the reverse switch (the one with 2x terminals) is easy.

Trust me mate, if your zuk orginally had a 1lt in it, then a 4k (and maybe more so the 5sp) is a serious upgrade!! ;)

Thanks mate thought it was that one was 100percent. Hopefully everyone here is as helpfull. It was a 1l and if i do say so my self she goes pretty hard now even with only a short test drive before we started pulling it apart. Put a 4k in a mates 1.3l sierra and it has heaps more go than the stock suzuki engine ever did and his motors only running about 50-60 psi in each cylinder :hmm:. It did have a very nasty cam in it but, could not get it to idle at all without it revving up real high. pulled it out replace with standard cam, gave them both a quick check with the calipairs, was 25mm difference :eatlead: Was a bit of over kill, was told it was ment to run with a twin stock carbie set up that came with it. My zook is running a stock exhaust manifold with a 1.75 inch system with one very restrictive muffler soon to be chopped off after rego.
