dingeldei Posted August 17, 2012 Author Report Posted August 17, 2012 everything is at a stand still until after road worty. i don't wanna modify this and risk failing rwc. I'm sourcing someting to lower the car. I'm stuck between springs and shocks or coilovers. it was obvious to begin with that id get springs till i was told ill need new shocks down the track. so I'm trying to find some second hand coilovers that will cost the same as nwe springs and shocks. any help would be much aprreciated I'm also looking around for an exhaust manifold. but the next mods ill be doing is getting a hood from the wreckers and fabricating a scoop into it (ill try my best to keep it tastefull) then paint it black as well as paint the wheels black. then I'm gonna install my black spoiler and hopefully it will allflow though the car. the scoop is so i can chuck on one of these to try mak the engine a bit more "grunty-er" Quote
Ben-89 Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 This Novas looking better Rob, youve done some tastefull mods! Particularly the cup holders and arm rest. You beat me to it but I was going to recommend Scavman regarding the suspension your chasing. Even that exhaust section would fit your sedan no problems! Where in Melbourne are you from? Looking forward to more progress! Quote
rian Posted August 23, 2012 Report Posted August 23, 2012 Cup holder is win! Nice car man, what does your nan think of it now?? Quote
dingeldei Posted September 17, 2012 Author Report Posted September 17, 2012 haha she is happy that I'm putting so much time into it and taking care of it Quote
dingeldei Posted September 17, 2012 Author Report Posted September 17, 2012 Subs: Fixed leek in windscreen: Steering wheel: Hello Recaro lanyard ;) Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Quality work, for a first build its refreshing to see someone taking their time and doing a good job. The wheels look really good with the colour of the car great choice. :y: Quote
Ben-89 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Its getting better as you go along, it will definetley look the part with those suspension bits you got too. Do you still have the rear window louvre (or sunshade) by any chance? Theres someone I know whos looking for one if you still have it. Whats the condition of the windscreen? I'll assume its the original. These windscreens are notorious for leaking and causing rust. It is caused by those clip/trims which you photographed that allow dirt to accumilate and eventually rust. Maybe remove the windscreen and clear out the remaining silicone (which there was barely much of from the factory) and prep and seal for the replacement glass. Where abouts in Melbourne are you located, there is a top windscreen guy I could put you on. Quote
dingeldei Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) yeah i still have the rear sunshade. how much does the guy want for it? and I'm in glenwaverley but the windshield isnt the problem. thanks any way. anyway this is where the car is at now... sound detained the boot and parcel shelf and it makes a big diference, taking the shelf out was a bit of a mission though. JVC headunit KD-R905 with 6 pre-outs stereo sounds amazing now with the speakers running off an amp re wired my subs and speakers to fit both my amps. after modding the airintake a little and taking off the heat shield i felt a bit uncomfortable with out the heat shield and my cast iron headers look ugly anyway. so i modded the heat shield and covered up the hole Edited November 13, 2012 by dingeldei Quote
dingeldei Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) looking at getting a hood off a toyota with a couple more lines in it rather than the flat sheet of metal mine is and then painting it black I'm gonna paint the wheels black when i paint the hood too. also trying to find a tacho but i don't know if it will work can some one help me out? like this: http://www.ebay.com....#ht_1022wt_1111 and lastly i want to get an exhaust from the cat back and some headers maybe? any advice guys? thanks edit: just an update too... i took the removable section of the boss kit out, not gonna get a hood scoop or filter. that seems unnecessary now and if i get an exhaust any extra sound made by the induction would be muffled. plus driving in the rain would be a pain i can't think of a way to water proof the filter. I'm just gonna run with the cold air feed from the flex pipe. ive got my license test in 6 days so thats exciteing and i plan on painting the brakes and rocker cover at the same time as my hood and wheels.
