4K How To Change And Set That Points

i just bought a set of points so as it says in title wondering how to change and set that points in my 4k in my ke55 its the 1st car ive had with points as my 66 holden has electric dizzy

Pull the cap off the dizzy. The points are held in by one or two screws.

Just install the new ones same as the old ones.

Turn the engine and you will see the cam in the dizzy lifting the points arm, when the arm is at the top of the cam the points gap should be 0.44.

cheers mate so how do i change gap if i have to i do have freeler gauge

From memory you just turn a screw. Its been a while. :)

Got a timing light too? Changing the points gap changes the timing.

 

Don't forget to put a touch of grease on the dizzy cam so it lubes the new points rubbing block.

 

Also, make sure the base-plate rotates each way freely as that's how the mechanical advance is added. If it doesn't want to turn you can unscrew the whole baseplate then clean and lube underneath where the weights are.
