StrollaMan92 Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Hi guys this is my first post so please don't roast me. This topic is probably already covered somewhere on here but I haven't got time to search through old threads to find the info i'm after. I recently bought an AE92 corolla but the gearbox is on the way out, conveniently enough I already own an AE86 corolla with a good box but shit body. The two boxes are still in the cars as the old car will still be used until it runs out of rego later this month but i'm wondering if the box in the older corolla will marry up to the newer model. Both are manual boxes and the only difference I can see so far is that the older box has got different ribbing on the outside of the case. As I said this is info is probably elsewhere but I need a quick response. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers Quote
ke70dave Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 are you sure its ae92 and ae86. if so they are very different, ae92 is FWD, ae86 is RWD! do you mean ae92 and ae82? Quote
StrollaMan92 Posted November 11, 2012 Author Report Posted November 11, 2012 Yea sorry about the confusion there. It is ae82 i got mixed up. Both cars are front wheel drive and everything looks like it sould bolt up identically. I just don't wann pull both of them apart and discover that one has a larger diameter input shaft or something Quote
