hasitha Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 Hello, I tried so hard to find some useful information to turbocharge a 7K-E but with less success. Hope anyone will help me to know what I am up against with. I have a 7K-E motor which I need to turbocharged. Some say that it is impossible as the stock compression is already high (9:1is it?) and that the intake and the exhaust being on the same side prevents location of the turbo unit. Hope someone can shed some light on this for me. I read that the stock compression can be reduced by using a thicker gasket and the turbo can be mounted using "J" pipes or some other method. Has anyone turbocharged a 7K-E? I really need some ( a lot of) advise here please. Cheers.. Quote
LongJohnSilver Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 (edited) There are a couple of people on here who have boosted K motors, a couple of examples: Red Rocket's 5k Turbo Efi Ke55s Jaydnisevil's 4k Turbo Ke70 Taz_Rx's 5kte Ke55 Just have trawl through the rides threads to see if you can find more. Also, , which is apparently this guy's old car. He's still active on YouTube so maybe he'd respond to a message if you have got questions. Edit: Mute your speakers before you watch that video, trust me. Edited January 24, 2013 by LongJohnSilver Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 (edited) Not impossibly by any means. I've ran my 7k with my turbo/efi setup before. Compression ratio isn't an issue if its tuned correctly. And you can also fit a decent manifold in under the efi, check out mine. Edited January 24, 2013 by Taz_Rx Quote
