hey I'm new to the site and new to toyotas below is a picture of my 83 wagon i will be sanding it down and it will be black primer for a while and first question is what are the easy things i should do to the motor for hp any help would be great or where can i find parts for it

this should be cool. and shouldn't have too much trouble making it go good with a 3t.

I figure I can see a steering wheel on the passenger's side, so it won't be a K motor, and your 1.8 must refer to the 3T engine that we didn't get here. If you have the Californian emission one then the first thing would be to find out if you can strip it out to Jap spec & fail all the emission testing. Can you find out what compression ratio its running?

thanks for the help and yes I'm in chicago.the steering wheel is on that side and it is a 3t motor and over here we don't do emissions for cars older than 1995 so taking them out wouldnt be a problem which parts though just sensors or mechanical,and from what i researched its 9.0;1
