July 17, 201313 yr comment_662050 If it has always been like that then I can imagine servicing it might not fix it. However if that problem has arisen since you've owned it then the reservice missed something. The first thing I'd suspect would be the float level. If it lets the petrol get too high in the bowl it will just pour into the motor. Are all the vacuum lines connected correctly? If someone has plugged them then you'd need to know what each one did and was it affecting fuel usage. I'm sure the carb ran better than that when it came out of the factory, so you should be able to get it back to original. Don't forget a change to another carb will bring a stack of new problems as that carb will have been designed for its own set of vacuum lines on another motor. Report
July 18, 201313 yr comment_662091 It might also pay to check the condition of the fuel supply lines/connections to the carburetor itself, you may have a leak from there as the lines perish over time. The easiest way to convert to EFI is to just pull out your carb engine & drop in an EFI version of it, complete with wiring, ECU etc. Which may require a modification-plate, depending on where you are in the world? I'm guessing Kenya, Africa by your username? Edited July 19, 201313 yr by carbonboy Report
July 18, 201313 yr Author comment_662150 thanks altezzaclub. checked the vacuum lines n surely most of them have been totally messed up with,n i suspect the carb is just pouring in fuel, best option is doing a whole engine swap. carbonboy..i will check the lines once am onto the engine swap. guys am also wondering if the 4agte will seamlessly attach to my t40 gearbox without any modifications, i don't mind the engine mounts modification coz the engine bay is quite big, Report
