love ke70 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 hellooo good people of rollaclub. well the car is home and i am very close to starting it. just a couple of things left to do. now i am wondering, when i bought the car the turbos were not on the car and have put the turbos on now will be putting the banjo bolts into the oil feeds tomorrow and am wondering do i need to crank the engine over without the turbos spinning so that the oil has time to flow thru the turbos to the bearings? or will it be just fine by starting and letting it tick over? if i do need to build oil pressure whats the best way to do it? remove spark plugs and crank over for a minute or two? cheers guys, i should be started tomorrow :D ;) :D :D Quote
irokin Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 I just remove the sparkplugs and crank it over a few times. The load on the starter is minimal so you can crank it over a fair bit. I did this mainly because it was a brand new motor but its a good idea to get oil up to the turbo(s) before they have to spin at any sort of speed. Quote
love ke70 Posted March 20, 2006 Author Report Posted March 20, 2006 agreed :D cheers for the help Quote
