Daniel.Kessler Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 hi guys sorry if this is in the wrong spot I'm going to be looking at a 5 speed gearbox out of a ke70 next week and just wondering if it will bolt straight in? ive had a bit of a look around but can't seem to find enough info do i need the yoke for the rear of the box where the tailshaft goes into do the clutches from a k40 fit a k50 things like that cheers Quote
altezzaclub Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 Straight swap if you have a 4speed in there! Everything fits, its a simple and nice piece of engineering from Toyota, all they did was lengthen the layshaft and stick an extra gear in the tailshaft housing. Check for leaks from the front seal. The rear seal is 10minutes to change, but the front seal needs the gearbox stripping from the back! That is an abysmal piece of engineering from Toyota! Quote
Daniel.Kessler Posted October 29, 2015 Author Report Posted October 29, 2015 ok thanks for the help! yeah i have a 4 speed ke70 and from what i gathered as long as the gearbox was from a ke70 it was a straight swap but just wanted to make sure i'll be taking my dad with me as he used to work on old cars at a service station when he was my age cheers Quote
