rb240 Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 Hello to all, I am a new first time corolla owner and have a question about it. It's a 99 with the 1.8 1zz engine....It has a misfire that happens at all times,I've checked spark and all 4 wires are getting spark.checked the fuel injectors and number 4 injector does not have a signal so it's not injecting fuel.I checked voltage and I get 12volts to the b/w wire and I also have continuity in the black wire from the injector harness all the way back to the ecu.I went as far as to bypass the harness and run a separate wire from the ecu to the injector and still nothing.it seemed to me I had a bad ecu so I got ahold of another one same numbering and all but still nothing.I'm at a loss.the wiring diagram dosent help much because I have power and continuity.any help or leads would be greatly appreciated!!!! greenmac80 Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 (edited) injectors don't get a 'signal' they are earth switched. youve checked for spark have you replaced the plug on no.4? or at least tried a different plug. have you washed your engine bay at all? to check for injector pulse u need a noid light. Have u pulled the plugs and inspected them? i personally had a missfire issue. Turns out when i washed my engine bay number 4 sparkplug tube filled with water and made the plug go rusty. Replaced the spark plug and all was fine. same thing can happen if its full of oil if the seals are leaking. Edited July 25, 2016 by greenmac80 Quote

Just an aside, I assume you're not in Australia? We didn't get the 1ZZ until the E12x series at the end of 2001, unless it's a conversion Edited July 25, 2016 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
