dysolve Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 Hi all, my wife just informed me that my laptops clock looses about an hour a day work of time for example i set the clock to the right time two days ago i just turned it on now and it was 1hr and 40 mins behind.. does anybody have any idea's to why it would be doing this? If i sink the clock with auto update it changes to the right time. Quote
woteva Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 I am no expert, but I have heard that the bios battery going flat, can cause your computer clock to run slow. I would just phone a computer shop and ask them if this could be the cause. good luck A. Quote
dysolve Posted May 5, 2006 Author Report Posted May 5, 2006 it computer is less then 15 months old so i can't see why the battery would be flat. Quote
SoulSearcher Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 Heh heh heh..... we own a computer shop, let me ask the tech guy (hubby) OK answer: It's the CMOS/BIOS battery, they cost about $10.00 depending on your machine, labour cost would be about $60.00. Toshiba's are a bit of a cow to get to, so you're looking at about $70.00 all up to fix it. If it's under warranty (check because some brands have a two year warranty) it would be repairable under warranty. Lesley :) the one with no life :) Quote
