Hi all,

my wife just informed me that my laptops clock looses about an hour a day work of time

for example i set the clock to the right time two days ago i just turned it on now and it was 1hr and 40 mins behind.. does anybody have any idea's to why it would be doing this? If i sink the clock with auto update it changes to the right time.

I am no expert, but I have heard that the bios battery going flat, can cause your computer clock to run slow.

I would just phone a computer shop and ask them if this could be the cause.

good luck

Heh heh heh..... we own a computer shop, let me ask the tech guy (hubby)

OK answer:

It's the CMOS/BIOS battery, they cost about $10.00 depending on your machine, labour cost would be about $60.00. Toshiba's are a bit of a cow to get to, so you're looking at about $70.00 all up to fix it. If it's under warranty (check because some brands have a two year warranty) it would be repairable under warranty.
