Greetings, wanted to know is it possible to install T50 gearbox to 4k engine without using K-T housing? May use a 5k flywheel(8inch) and AE86 clutch, any further modification needed? 1st k50 gearbox come with the car the input shaft was cooked, replaced a used k50 decent one, after drive for few month and spirited drive heard howling noise when release clutch at idling, when engage clutch the noise will go out, suspect the 2nd k50 input shaft bearing was worn, teared down the cooked k50 found out not only the input shaft bearing cooked but counter gear shaft bearing seating surface was pitted,  was thinking to install T50 but k-t housing was hard to source and still love the tiny 4k engine, Thanks

(Pic shown was the 1st k50 i cooked)

" counter gear shaft bearing seating surface was pitted,"

..and the roller bearings are completely unobtainable as far as I can find.  You can have the shaft built up and ground back, but those bearings were a Toyota in-house. This is what will kill the 4Ks in the end.

The T50s will go the same way eventually, I couldn't find all the bearings when I rebuilt mine earlier this year..
