billygoat Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Has anyone put the twin carb set up from a 93 model civic onto their 3k engine, I searched for info but couldnt find any. If you have any advice or info it would be greatly appreciated. cheers Jarrod Quote
billygoat Posted August 19, 2006 Author Report Posted August 19, 2006 There was heaps of them at the wreckers this morning when i was looking for a bigger throttle body for my civic. And I thought wonder if anyone has done it. So I will give it a go when i rebuild the engine I pulled apart. Quote
Guest doktor Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 You really can't get much better than a pair of Side Draft 40mm webers on a K series engine... As far as Carbies go that is What about an inlet manifold for those? I have such a pair of 40DCOE's I want on my 4K, but I'm stuck on the inlet issue... My finnish friend showed me a picture of one, but a used will also do :( $$ Quote
billygoat Posted August 19, 2006 Author Report Posted August 19, 2006 Their off a d15b which is a 15oo not sure on the venturi size. The only problem is the manifold I'd have to make to fit them and because they are side drafts making sure I got enough room for them to fit in there. Quote
ancullen Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 The twin-carbs off a mid-80's Prelude might be worth a look (the engine was the 1829cc ET1). I know the 1984 model had it, but not sure which others. Also, the 1984 model Accord (with the ES2 1829cc engine) came with a triple barrel carb which may be an easier conversion, and must do about the same sort of job as the twin-carbs as the two engines (from the same family with the same capacity) only had a 2hp difference in power.
