  1. Hi i have a standard 4k carb and my float is not sitting level like it should be. has anyone got a guide to setting it properly or do i just buy a float gage and bend the tab so that it sits rite. cheers
  2. Ok cool well i'm going to have a look at the float and check the pressure of the fuel going in this afternoon but i just remembered that origionaly i had a alluminium fuel line going into the carb but have recently changed it to a lot thicker tubed pipe could there be to much fuel going in? should i put a limiter into the fuel line? cheers
  3. yes i checked for vaccume leaks and it was the gasket from the carb to engine. there are no backfires anymore now but the car is still with foot flat staying at about 2000rpm then after 30 seconds ish it goes all the way and strugles to idle. any more advice? cheers
  4. I'm recently having problems with my single carb on my 4k. I recently replaced the cam in the engine with a fast road cam and it was going fine. I got the idle tuned so it was just strugling to stay alive and the car was running fine. I then went and bought myself a 3k-b twin carb which i used to replace my single carb but with huge problems. 1 of the carbs jets wasnt working to i cleaned it out but still the car sounded horrible like it wasnt running on all 4 cylinders so i decided to go back to my single carb. I hooked the carb up as usual but when i started it it didnt seem to run as before. The rev's with my foot flat on the accelerator seemed to just be at 2000rpm. then after about a minute they would catch up go as usual but the car would back fire every time i took it over 3500rpm. anyone got any ideas on what i need to do? thanks
  5. looks very nice and good job on the gearbox conversion :) should be nice when its all done. keep us posted!!! btw i wouldnt go for a cream carpet :) they seam to change colour rapidly with use.
  6. Hi i was wondering would a boss kit for a kp61 starlet fit on a ke30? cheers
  7. ok cool haha i myt go with that, getting a lumpy sound out of the car would be mean but i dnt want it to bad that idling at the lights is a pain :jamie: also am i correct in that it is possible to replace the cam while the engine is still in the bay or should i pull it out
  8. ok cool thanks, i have the car out of action at the moment anyway waiting for the shipment of new front guards to get off the boat that was supost to arive yesterday ( now the end of feb ) so i should be all set with time.
  9. Hi, i have been looking into doing a cam shaft replacement on my standard 4k but have very limited engine knowledge. Would anyone have a guide or a walkthrough on replacing a cam in a 4k and would anyone be able to tell me what i need to buy before i even start removing the origional one. ( i am going up to a mild grinded cam ) thanks
  10. Ya i was going for keeping that old school look on the 30 and it was either spitfires or modgies but as the spitfires are much harder to get here i just went for the modgies haha, taking the car into the shop tamora to get my exaust done finally and my guards will arive soon to ( then time for full respray as the metalic on the door came out a funny colour from spraying doors seperatly ) will get more pics up 2mora

  14. OK well heres it i got this 1977 ke30 sedan about 6 months ago, the roof had been kicked in and some kid had painted the whole car with white spraypaint. I have been having the urge to post up pictures of it for awhile so here goes it ( the pictures are of it recently as my origional pictures of the car are at my computer at home so i will get them up at the end of the month as i am away at the moment.)
