Thanks. I'm using the same battery as I was before the install, but it's quite small so I guess I just got lucky. There's isn't a whole lot of clearance but it doesn't rub. If worst comes to worst it would be a good incentive to move your battery to the boot :laff: Bought and installed this today - Rare OEM optional under-dash (floor well) lights. They emit a green glow on both the driver's and passenger's side whenever the door is open, and stay on for about 10-seconds when the door is shut, then fade out. It had it's own control box just like the key light:

Thanks mate. I find it relatively easy to spot things that could do with improvement. The more I mod the harder it gets, but so far I haven't found myself having to sit there and think about it :laff: Hmm, never really thought of adding a thin white or red stripe. Not really my cup of tea. However, in saying that, I've seen a Corolla with a thin red strip around the wheels in the past and it looked good. He had white wheels though and had a lip between the spokes and the outside of the rim, whereas my spokes go right to the outside of the rim. Putting the strip on the tyres on the other hand could be an option, but it's hard to envision without seeing a Photoshop (sadly something I'm not very good at, haha).

Thanks Phil! :)

Cheers Ken. I've thought about getting one for a long time, but have been on the fence about it because I've always thought that the 'mouth' looked a little too large. So when the opportunity came up to get one at such a great price I jumped at the chance, mainly because I don't have a lot to lose if I end up not liking it. I have something else up my sleeve which should make it look a bit better than OEM too, so fingers crossed that the final outcome is a good one. I'll be sure to post the update pics on here  Thanks mate, I appreciate it. Like the age old saying goes, "it's not the size that matters, it's how you use it that counts", and when it comes to modifying my Corolla I've found that it couldn't be more true. Small things such as number plate surrounds, a subtle pinstripe or a simple front lip can often get overlooked but can make a big difference, and usually turn out being the least expensive mods on the car. My car receives new additions quite regularly, but in the order of the mods I've installed up until now, there's not a thing I'd do differently

Thanks mate. Here's some instructions I wrote which explains the entire process on how to make your own CAI: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3259718 And here's a DIY that a member made based on my instructions: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=354338 Some close up shots of where the piping is routed can be found in the first link. Let me know if you have any questions :) Just went and picked this up - An AE101 FX-GT front bumper, complete with the fog lights and turn signals. Won it at auction for a measly $10.50 NZD ($8.20 AUD) :D. I had originally decided against getting one, but at a price that cheap it would have been silly not to get it, lol. I'm going to get it painted and will try it on. If I don't like the look I'll just keep it as a spare or sell it :)

Thanks a lot buddy. Makes me happy when people notice the smaller things and can appreciate what goes into a build like this. Simple but effective is my philosophy . Thanks again mate I installed some TRD spark plug leads today and took a quick photo of the car:

I agree!

Here's my latest mod that I installed today - An OEM key light. It was a rare factory option. I got it from an AE100 Sprinter, which has the exact same interior as the Corolla. Everything was literally plug-and-play which made the job very simple. It works as soon as the door is opened, and when the door is shut it remains on for about 10-seconds and then dims out.

Thanks mate. Can't wait to get it fitted properly
-
Test fitted my front lip today. Needs prep work and painting, but it seems to fit well with no cutting required:

Here's a shot I took late yesterday afternoon. Just happened to walk outside and saw a rainbow, so ran inside and grabbed my camera. Didn't have enough time to grab my keys, push the button and unfold the mirrors so they're folded in the photo, haha. Try pressing F11 on your keyboard to see the photo in full view :)

I bought a couple of brand new grilles this week (one pre-facelift and one facelift). Got them for a bargain. I'll keep the one like mine as a spare, but I'll more than likely sell the facelift one. Decided to try out the facelift one a couple of days ago, but prefer my original one better (the dark grey version) -

Thanks mate!! :D

Thanks bro. It's definitely a keeper. Can't see myself being without it :y: Wicked, looking forward to seeing that thread. Congrats on taking a different direction to other AE101 tuners. Very cool  I put the TRD strut brace on today :) Here's some pics of what it looked like when I got it back from the powder coaters and what it looks like after I installed it today:

Thanks bro. The graffiti location is one of my favourites. Glad you like my Corolla. You're very correct in saying that not a lot of people modify this model, which is good for me because it's stands out amongst the crowd :) Cheers dude. Looking forward to the future mods  Speaking of mods, I bought this TRD triangular strut brace last week. They were discontinued quite some years ago so I'm glad I've finally been able to get my hands on one. It's at the powder coaters at the moment because it had a bit of paint missing near the strut mounts, so being the fussy bastard I am, I sent it away to be sand blasted and completely powder coated

Thanks! Cheers mate. Hell, the fact that you've got a 3S-GE Beams under the hood makes up for any lack of cleanness :laff:. Nice work on your ride too :y:

Thanks mate. Sorry for the late reply :) Here's some latest pics:

I decided to return to a couple of my favourite photo locations today as I haven't been back since installing my new wheels and window tint. Here's how they came out:
-
A better photo of the car with tints, taken today:
-
Thanks dude. I've done a couple of things to it since the last update. I bought some new wheels and got 35% tints installed yesterday. The wheels are 17" Advanti Photons and the tint is called "Night Rider", which is the darkest legal tint available. I compared it to my mate's 20% tints and it's just as dark. Here's some pics (the first 4 photos are before it was tinted) - Oh yeah, and I got some custom stickers made for the engine bay:

There should already be small indents in the firewall where the bolts should be. This was the case on my Corolla, and every other Corolla I've seen. The Australian models might be different however. The reason they make the indents is because they use the same chassis as the FX-GT hatches, GT sedans and BZ Touring wagons (all of which came with that strut brace). If you don't have the indents then it'll simply be a case of tracing around the holes and drilling through. Be sure to put nyloc nuts on the back of the bolts so that nothing comes loose. You can get in there by removing the wiper arms and plastic cowling :)

A couple of photos from today. Went to take some photos of the Auckland Sky Tower, and needed something to do while waiting for the clouds to clear:

Thanks mate, I appreciate it Here's an interior shot (before the FX-GT Momo steering wheel and Lexus pedals) -
