  4. yea i been thinking about those badge not too sure what i want to do with them yet the 4agze sounds good are they factory intercooled? are they as easy conversion as a 20v 4age
  5. anybody hello!
  6. Here it is my 92 holden nova GS with the unusual 7afe 1.8 engine. i bought it about 8 or 9 months ago of my workshop controller who used to work at a toyota dealership, who told me that the car had been in his familly since it had 50000 kms on it(it now has 287000km) and i reckon with new valve stem seals the engine could do an other 200000km no problems. the rear window is coming off at the bottom, which is annoying as i have to drain thye water out of the boot every time it rains :glare: . The clutch i was told has never been replaced ever! :o and still feels great, which i think is pretty impressive :y: the paint on the roof is fading and could do with a respray but i'm not too worried about that yet,the bonnet was resprayed when i first got the car, and there is one rust spot on the rhr guard which i get fixed in the near future, the rest of the car is 99% rust free. my plan is to make this car into a quick daily that can handle corners, i am not too sure which engine to go with yet as i want the car to still be confortable to drive as a daily.
  7. o ok, what sort of place should i go to for after market ecu's? here's some pictures of the car.
  8. yea it would have been good. are they good for daily driving?
  9. na i'm in new south wales right near the qld border
  10. hey thanks for the info there's lots of good stuff in there.i'm still not sure if i'm gona put a turbo on the 7afe or get a 4afe 20v i'll do a bit more looking around.
  11. yea i'v herd of those 7afe turbo. i will try and test drive a 20 valve corolla then, i woudn't mind test driving a 7afe turbo but their is not many of them around. if i go with the turbo i would probably go aftermarket turbo kit, do you no of anyone who makes those turbo kits?
  12. o ok thats an idea, if i rebuild the 7afe to keep it reliable with a turbo set up should i use any aftermarket parts like headgasket, bearings, maybe stronger internals? or are the 7afe's already a fairly strong motor? i'm not very familiar with turbo's i'm still an apprentice and is there turbo kits on the market?
  13. hi all, i now a holden nova az93r, the same as an ae93 with the 7afe 1.8l engine. the car is in quite good condition for 270000 km, as the engine is starting to blow a bit of smoke/ using oil and the manifold is cracked, i would like to replace the ageing 7afe for somethin with more power :) :S so i'm thinking a silvertop 4age 20v as i herd was a fairly easy conversion. How should i go about it? is it much work, i have already got a price on a silvertop 4age 20v halfcut. and where would i go for parts for those engines as they are imported?
