  1. Well why I'm at work thought I might as well update this. Since this time last year I have put another engine in (now my 3rd) with plans to build the second engine. Current engine has a few things done and a few nismo goodies. New turbo has been fitted and is off to get a tune soon. I went with a tdo5 18g, most people use them on sr's but the difference will be minimal. I'm now running nistune aswell and the car has under a full rewire, gearbox has been rebuild and a lightened flywheel as well as a 6 puc ceramic button clutch. the car still runs steelies but has 15x10s all round now and has had an few incidents with tyres stacks. One of which was at about 120kph and pushed the rear half of my car in
  2. all freshened up ready for the next practice (Saturday 28th) so pretty keen to get back out there and abuse this thing
  3. fresh to me is under 100k lol
  4. dori is short for dorifuto or dorikin, one of those, which in japanese means drift, something along those lines....i.e means drift fresh as a nuns c**t, had been sitting around for about 6 months always cranked and had done 85,000 kms, put it in and had a sticky lifter, which was an easy fix, had a look at the manifold side of things, the butterfly valves where closed which means i was getting 50% intake flow, so I'm guessing thats where the power loss is, ill do the cam timing and then run it again, but i might leave it as is for the next track day, as still have plenty of power, was baking 3rd after the dyno run so hav no problems there :)
  5. got allingment done today and a dyno run was far from impressed with my outcome, best run was 112kw which is probs below a standard ca18, i was expecting figures close to and if not over 200kw and full boost was reached untill 4500rpm I'm hoping this is due to my cam timing being out and a possible blockage in the inlet manifold, will have to pull it apart to see, but did a quick boost around the block and runs great, just lacking some serious power :/
  6. new engine is 100%, i had to sort out some idle issues etc and exhaust has been re-welded so its much stronger just need a wheel alingment and ill be ready for the next drift prac :)
  7. yea i have it as an expression of intrest, i intend to keep it but if someone offers me the right price ill have to take it, cause i need the money so i can pay to progress my career but doubt it will sell cause price is qutie high haha, my brain tells me to sell it but my inner kid says no haha
  8. yea unsure how it will hold up against the tyre stacks at mallala though haha ill cook everything on there!!!!
  9. gaurds look good, although man need more flaring if ur going 15x10s!
  10. nah not really, did at first, but i couldnt even get a credit card in between tyre and gaurd but I'm running s13 7kg coilovers and 7kg rear springs with turbo gas shocks
  11. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=436257 ^^^thats it there thanks man :)
  12. New lock, simply custom knuckles and rack spacers, cost $220 bucks and a couple of hours work, well worth it if u ask me
  13. they could possibly, I'm not 100% sure on their origin
  14. Its always so tempting to rego it and do it more often, but if i got pulled over I'm sure the cop would simply hand me a bottle of lube and say "hands and face on the bonnet young chap!" yea i believe they are t18 lights, ive never seen them before which makes me like them more haha oh it is fun, can't wait to take it drifting again with more lock and better setup in general on the plus side gettting it tuned within the next few weeks, going to spend a while on the dyno getting everything sweet after i drop the cams in (this weekend if i get time), at the moment its running sooooo rich, drove it up the street and all i saw was black smoke haha, it leans out as soon as boost comes on (quite neckbreaking expirience) does anyone reccomend a place? i was thinking horsepower in a box or jaustech, either way I'm looking for between 160kw to 180kw :)
  15. answer ur question haha photos a bit squashed but u get the idea the rear gaurds hav been completely removed and front gaurds where welded in place, they would fit a standard e7 quite well, they just poke out because I'm running a r31 diff, which is an extra 25mm longer i believe
  16. cheers mate yea they are 16x8 steelies, rears will be 16x10 if u hav facebook theres a page on there called grizzley imports and thats where u get them from, only place i know of that gets them
  17. yea oil cooler is a great idea, although the oil lines are rather long i havent noticed any difference in oil pressure, so its all good
  18. yea man ca18det, usual stuff bigger injectors, fuel pump, kkr 480 turbo screamer pipe etc. still yet to get it dyno'd haha yea i will bend it up eventually its just kinda sitting there, didnt hav the right equipment to bend it yea thats what i wanted, but they don't sell the right size tyre in a 15, so i settled for a 16. will be getting 16x10's hopefully
  19. MIlk crate was not the comfyest haha ahh only up and down the street its out of rego, but I'm moving house soon and will probs rego it then. Just hope nobody gets within 3 feet of me haha Unfotuantly it happens, engine was on its way out any way so it was a big deal to me
  20. After starting my own build for a drift car after it was defected it took me several months to get minimal work done to it, due to education commitments etc first thing i did was research some other builds of what needs to be done, pricing etc usual build stuff. It started life as a normal stock 4 speed manual ke70 with cut springs after the defect happened i stripped it and continue to drift it with no interia because well, it wasnt going through regency anyways and that loss of weight added atleast 40kw decided the stock seat then had to go so i purchased a Sparco milk crate and made it suit standard rails With then realising that its not smart to drive a defected interia with no seat around, the rest was removed (engine etc) and body work began A full s13 front then went in and engine bay was painted, this included s13 rack, x-member, coilovers and knuckles Next was engine and with a few bored moment i decided to drop in the sr20 ;) By this time the build thread i was following had been completed and the bloke had sold the car to a close friend of mine. This made it even easier to build my car as i could see it in person at this stage everything was coming along nicely and i had been following a build thread from nissansilvia.com pretty much exactly with the front end finished i thought it was time for a new diff and to start pumping the gaurds With my rims chosen this wasnt enough so they got treated by Mr Angle Grinder The rest of the front end was completed and the guards almost got finished before my mate decided he wanted to sell the corolla i was building. With this car being completly built and ready to drift, i thought why build what i can already by, so i did. I then stripped this and sent it off to scrap metal for 60 big ones. (if anyone needs s13 gear i have spares minus coilovers) At this stage it was a little bit sleeper spec, Minus the rollcage and excessively flared gaurds Pulling into a servo station in a car with rollacage, screamer pipe, race seats etc felt a bit weird and i got a few weird looks on the way home from people :S new home for who knows how long With this stockish look about it i changed a few things to make it more tough I then took it for its first spin out at mallala, i got about 15 laps out of it before this happened Its a bit blurry but thats my conrod exiting my sump :S Since then i hav changed the engine and added a few extras such a new rims, exhaust, intake manifold, shifter location, rack spacers and knuckles rims have been the biggest change for it, which I'm now running 16x8 -0 on 195/45 fedreal 595s. I havent been out yet with these rims and tyres so no feed back as yet but they fit rather well Drift pipe is a bit excesive but u love it or hate it will have to get a few more pics of the lock that i have now but that gives u a run down on how my build was flipped and changed around sliding pic to keep u entertained
  21. read through the hole thread, quite a build i say
