  1. I actully didn't end up going at Bendigo. A sudden family thing came up. Had another round at Colac on Sunday. Was 2nd of 3 in class. No big deal. But for the first time, I've managed to get legit fastest time in a couple of courses, which means going quicker than Andrew (Civic). Off to Mt Gambier in a few weeks.
  2. I forgot about this thread, after my computer had a virus. Anyway. Been drving hopeless in the meetings since my last post. A couple of weeks ago at the Toyota factory/Altona was really bad. Jus haven't been concetrating at all. Up at Bendigo on saturday. Not expecting much.
  3. Have only just got back home. Phew I'm tired! Stopped at Echuca to watch Carlton/Brisbane. Tough conditions. However, I like these overnight meetings.
  4. I won't be competing in the Autocross. I'll be there at about 1pm, and will need the rest of the day putting the tent up :o With the hussle and bussle of worrying about Deni. It's just occurred to me that I haven't yet entered for this weekend's round.
  5. So I did go tot PI. I'm not sure how familiar you guys are with the state racing scene. But of one the better classes in it is Improved Production. Out of curiosity, how do you guys think an E70 Corolla would go in it?
  6. Haha I got sucked in! I drove from Lalor right to the gates of the dscc grounds before I checked my phone, and saw an sms from the tcca president saying it had been cancelled :o At least I got to stop and hang out in Echuca/Moama for a while. I don't mind the bigger country towns. I've just read an email I've received, saying this meeting may now be postponed 3 weeks (May 9/10). So that may mean that we get two consecutive VMC rounds, with the PCCV hosting at Pakenham on May 3. The 9th is my birthday. So I'd much rather be there doing that than whatever I would've been doing. Which was probably nothing anyway. I don't even know how carbonboy would manage to sleep In his car, never mind the two of us. I think I'll stick to my poorly set up tent. The bonus of this weekend being cancelled. Is that I'll now be able to go to the state racing at Phillip Island tomorrow. I love going to PI, and haven't missed a meeting for 5 years. So I'll keep my run going
  7. Sleep in the car? That's what carbonboy said he was going to do, at the TCCA meeting on Tuesday. No thanks.
  8. Absolute garbage, this deal. C10 knew they weren't benefitting the wider public. There's been a long term plan to get it on foxtel eventually. It's the last major sporting comp to get flogged on there. There's nothing left after this. 20+ years ago, I would've been passionate enough about F1 to fork out cash. But now, I wouldn't consider it. If I didn't get foxtel for the London Olympics or the Cricket WC (The only times it's hurt not to have it), then current F1 is not going to be enough. Can anyone help with a link for streaming anyway?
  9. I'm heading out there, but won't bother with the Autocross. Got my car serviced and an adjustment to the brakes, which hopefully be enough to fling it around and finally have a red hot go in one of these meets. My mechanic said he could do no more, the brakes on the Laser are small. He suggested to put the hydraulic brake, if I wanted. So we'll see in the next couple of weeks. Just found out the Motel in Deniliquin in $89. There are no rooms left. Had I known earlier, I would've done that instead of having to camp there. Saturday afternoon will be the first time in my life I put up a tent by myself!
  10. It might be a lot of fun. But I don't expect it to be successful. They'll get a few cars, but that's it. How many genuine pros would be available in the first place?
  11. I'll head out there for an hour or so, but I won't be competing. I'm more interested in the cricket today.
  12. Rightio, that's a bit of an anti-climax. Either way, I expect to do a lot better I the next couple of meets.
  13. Taking a pillow would cramp me up even more! If I sat upright, I'd knock my head on the roof!
  14. I was anticipating a bit of stick from coln72 or carbonboy.
  15. No response after 5 days? You guys don't want to hang out with losers anymore?
  16. Garbage today. 7th of 7. So much for beating Bert in his car. The defending class champ didn't show up (I think his housemate hurt themselves, so he stayed away), and Big Spender, who I've had a go at itt, didn't turn up too. I could barely fit in Bert's Prelude. I like to sit upright and have the steering wheel at my chest. But not only was I reclined like was sitting in a sunchair. I couldn't even move forward because my knees were all cramped up. I've driven the car before, and almost won a G5 meet one time. But then it had a forklift knob. This time it didn't. I was driving with my arms extended using my fingertips. It was uncomfortable. Make no mistake though. I'm a long way from being a good driver.
  17. R1 of VMC tomorrow. Not sure what to make of my chances, or how I'm going to go about it. I'll probably just take it as it comes. I live in Lalor, nowhere near Pakenham. But it's been raining for a fair while as I type. I wonder if it'll affect the competition proceeding? I don't think Pakenham gets as affected by rain as Werribee. Either way, I'll get out there and be ready for anything.
  18. I'm going to the Saffa/India game tomorrow. But before I do, I'm heading out to Werribee for the first round of the Group 5 series.
  19. In a way, it's a shame we don't start the season today. It's a cracking day. Ah well, will have to settle for watching cricket.
  20. Bert would've been in motorkhana for years before you even started! I may be able to beat him. But I get no satisfaction as a 33yo, knocking off an 80yo. carbonboy can also get 6 freebie points in the class standings by officiating. I would offer my help. But I won't til I can get class wins regularly. I haven't serviced my car for a year. Doesn't even start now, I've left it in my aunt's driveway for so long without at least starting it. Disappointing to not use it for the whole season and use the Prelude, which isn't as good. Hopefully I can still knock off Class C. It'll be hard enough with Andrew (Civic) there. Never mind any other competition, never mind a weaker car. By the end of the season, hopefully I have the confidence to be a really good, fast driver. I'd love to be the king of Autocross. But I've got to get my car how I want it. If for no other reasons, so I can't use it as an excuse or have a perceived weakness nagging me. Ok. I'll log on next time when the results come through.
  21. It's on this weekend. As far as I go. I haven't been able to so much as get the car serviced, never mind getting the brakes working the way I like. I don't know if you guys know Bert. But we get along good, and I've arranged to use his car (84 Honda Prelude) for this weekend. Considering I used his car for Deniliquin last year, I'll probably go again with it this year. Rd3 clashes with the World Cup final. So I wouldn't compete anyway, even if I was watching it on tv. I was thinking of just keeping the Laser in the garage and get it prepared the way I want it, and get in going from rd5 in May.
  22. Discs - front. Drums - rear. Does that make a difference? There' s a practice meeting on Sunday. Tbh, I'd prefer to watch the 12h
