  1. Banjo, I thought only the KE55 Borg Warners came with 9" drums?
  2. So I sent RainWarriorDregs a PM & he is yet to read it. Not complaining, he probably has his own life to live. Can anyone else please shed some light on this illusive RB alternator conversion?
  3. What happens to the reds when you turn to Start? Do they dim & if so, how much? Does the starter motor do anything at all, even just a click?
  4. When you say battery drained, you mean no reds at all? Some of this might suggest ignition barrel switch, given the varied symptoms you are describing.

  8. Hi peoples, The interwebs & my crappy googling skills have turned up retrofitting VL Commodore alternator guts into a 4K one, but no direct replacement options. Can someone please let me know what 80A or higher alternator is a direct swap? I don't mind having to modify plugs, wiring, etc :)
  9. Well, well...so it WAS the EGR valve after all! Pulled it off & bunged the manifold with a suitable sump plug on the weekend & drove it today. Idle & off-idle hesitation issues GONE!

  11. Definitely not vacuum in the tank. This was the first thing I checked. Vented cap...leaks like a sieve on hard corners ;) Okay, pulling the pick-up out tomorrow! (Weather & hangover not withstanding, LOL)
  12. Put electric pump in the boot today. Electric pump pushing to the stock mechanical = slight improvement, wherein in doesn't lean out quite as much, but still does. Electric pump only = identical symptoms to mechanical only. Electric pump gets considerably noisier during the lean events. Maybe the tank is full of crud, which blocks the pick-up sock when sloshed around, but drops out of suspension after sitting for a while?
