hey everyone I have a jap diff in my corolla just wondering what I have to do to put a borg warner diff in it as I can't find any japs diff? is it just the diff and tail shaft I have to replace ? j wanting to know cause I want to weld one up

Hi Sean,

No issues as spring mount centres are the same. Must use appropriate tail shaft, as the flanges are different on JAP & BW diffs.

 

If you get hold of a BW diff, makes sure it has the larger 9 inch brake drums. The JAP ones were only 8 inch dia.

Banjo, I thought only the KE55 Borg Warners came with 9" drums?

^^^^^Late ke30's (late 1977, early 1978) were the start of the borg warner diff with the small drums,
