Ok can anybody give me an idea as to why my KE70 keeps telling me its running red hot but when pop bonnet oil is full coolant is full water pump is working brand new thermostat in it new plugs new air filter new brakes. Temp guage running either dead center or up near 3 quraters can't see or find anything wrong plenty of pressure in the radiator damn near copped a face full of coolant opening it when it was a little hot still. Is this normal or not as before hand the temp gauge barely got to the 1 quarter mark i even replaced the heat sender for the damn thing and gauge still sayin its hot but it runs fine no worrys at all i took it to ipswich and back yesterday no hassles that was from toowoomba. so sumbody please HELP!

  3. Well I Now Have Me A 32/36 DGAV off of a 2 litre Ford Escort. I Am going to pay InjectaCarb Toowoomba to do a complete rebuild and rejetting of the carby as it has no jets no emulsifiers and no butterflys for the choke at the moment not that i care i knew it would need a rebuild anyway. But as the carby is missing quite a few bits Thank god injectacarb can source them for me after the carb is done it will be like a brand spanking newie. And for the fitting of it i getting them to do that to and they got air filter kits for them starting at $55 YAY The Rebuild Kit Is Costing me $62 on its own that all the seals and stuff like that.
  4. yeh the lukey does sound pretty awesome! lets just say it sounds like a stocko falcon when you start it and it sounds like its got a nice big 6 under it instaed of a four :P :P The extractors and exhaust system all up cost $550 and gave me a 45% increase in power overall and killed first gear as there is now 0 backpressure it has a much better top speed now though. But that is as i explained the fault of the pos aisan carb and is why i am getting the weber also thought to ask what the hell do i do with the anti polluion crap that is mounted on the front of the stock air filter.
  5. YEH have to disagree with some of the specs laid out for the 84 i have a february 84 ke70 it is a cs it has retractable seat belts front and back. It does not have door pockets you missed that they all came with an in dash POS phillips tuner or as an optional extra a phillips cassette player with tuner. You also didn't mention that asking for parts at a wreckers for a ke70 will usually get you looking at a 81 - 83 as the wreckers books only list the 84 as a AE71 the reason for this is as you most should know K denotes k engine A denotes A Engine E Denotes Corolla Numbers are the model Corolla it is But don't ask me why wreckers only have the 84 as a ae71 considering that there were only about 500 AE71's actually imported to australia as most of the 84's have the K series engine. Sorry teddy if i messed up your post but i know a bit about the KE70/AE71's too after owning one for nearly two yrs and having to find replacement parts which is a bitch in Toowoomba btw as those of us that live here that are car enthusiasts call it a FUDGIN RETIREMENT VILLAGE. The cops leave the old farts that cause the most accidents up here alone and pick on the young ones that are doing nothing wrong other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have found most police to be prejudice against the older cars that have a few stickers and make some nice zhaust sounds that are driven by some of the young ones here like me i am only 21 then the ones that are only 17 - 19 driving r33's that mummy n daddy gave them. Toowoomba great place to visit but watch out for the bloody ʇ~~ɔstubbles we have they are a bunch o pricks. Oh if anybody is interested the carnival of flowers this year will be led by 30 of toowoombas best cars including a rs 1800 escort that pulls over 320 hp at the wheels. want that in kilowatts its approx 238kw
  6. Ok i am just after a little info on this topic. I am picking up a weber 32/36 for my ke70 from a mate of mine for $30 before u say whats wrong with it absolutley nothing wrong with it he just needs to piss it off. now my question iswhat the frig do you do about the hose in the top of the tappet cover that goes to the standard air filter where the frig do u hook it up to serious i need an idea. i am thinking of just getting it professionally fitted to save me the stuff assing about with the thing is anybody else here from toowoomba and know of a decent place that won't try and rip me off!! i can get the adapter plates and air filter kits through injectacarb here in toowoomba then its just a matter of fittin the bastard to the car. reason for this is simple i have fitted 2 inch hurricane extractors and a 2 inch stright through with a super cat resonator and lukey hiflow exhaust and now i have no acceleration in 1st gear the mixer is set so low that the car is on fumes literally cause if i take it past 1.5 turns from all the way in the bastard floods and stalls like a bitch. plus the other annoyance of the bloody thing revs having to be up past 1000 in drive to stop it from stalling at the lights i have looked at every possible thing it could be and all i can put it down to is the POS AISAN CARBY so weber it is cause i gettin it cheap!

There is a simpler test to find out if head/head gasket is dead or dying its called a co2 test and most mechanice will do one for around 5 bucks. they have a blue liquid in a tube they take the radiator cap off and hold it above radiator if the liquid gos green there is co2 in the radiator and either the head or the head gasket need replacing! this was done on my ke70 to find out that my haead gasket was blown and valve one in head was cracked stright thru. after removing head i find red loctite both sides of head gasket and ring up previous owner and abuse him for n hour!!!! however on a 4kc a head replacement was easy got a mildly worked one 4 $88 and repco supplied all the required gaskets for $50 so i supplied some rum and coke and tools and shit and got a mate to help me change it over. all up including parts an new coolant radiator flush crap and oil it cost me $189 for head change over on a 4k-c not diffucult once u can get the bloody manifold off.
