So,
I'm alive, the Rolla is alive, my dreams are alive (again, but changed) after the rust repairs & badge hole filling and some prep, I found over these months a very large lack of time to contribute, so, I had to improvise, I put it into the paint shop...
Lets just say I think I underestimated the work needed, with the old Lexcen I had help, and I was young, so things seemed a lot easier back then.
One day I will build a tribute to the beautiful Lexcodore, maybe I might do an AE101 Corolla instead, seeing as the 1995 Holden Nova is the same thing, juut like the lexcen & Holden.
I'll start a new thread, CB's White Ke 70 I'll post as I put her back together.
But all that aside, here's the old girl in her new dress colour. -
Hey all,
Will slant front scuttle fit flat front everything else?
Cheers,
Connor.

Need to buy a scuttle panel pronto! If anyone is able to help me out that would be epic!

The metal mice have had a field day chewing on that guard it might be easier and faster to get a good replacement one. As a whole looks like she isnt in too bad shape good luck look forward to see your progress.
I can’t paint while the weather is junk like it is at the moment so I picked up a grinder. Dads got a mig. Gives me something to do until the sun comes out haha

And so here it is on the trailer!!
Turns out it’s missing front glass and probably a few small things. Again something I’ll figure out on assembly.
After a couple of pull overs and engine fiddling on the surging 22r , we made some minor modification to the return fuel line, possibly bypassing it, allowing us to safely make the trip.
It on the trailer now and on our way home! Big smiles on this guys face ->

Maybe while your down the Goldie you could go pick up the complete ke10 for sale at Burleigh Heads for $1200 on gumtree.
Yeah, I was looking at that car, it was the original car that I looked at but the guy ignored all my messages, I gave him a low-ball offer which wasn't good for me to do as I hadn't researched what they were really worth... so it only makes sense to me that he thought I was being a jerk, but when looked into it and decided to be serious about he ignored my messages. That said, it looks to me like it is still missing a lot of stuff too.
3 hours ago, B.L.Z.BUB said:If it's missing stuff it's just weight reduction anyway. Mine ended up losing about 50% of the hardware, purely because I was pulling it apart so much. Mainly trim stuff.
But yeah, front guards, 4 bolts, if they were lucky. Lol.
Dash. Maybe 3.
Shit like that, never mechanical.
Have fun.
I guess I'll find out when it comes to assembly haha! at least has pretty much all of its parts as far as I am aware & a working engine :). I think when the ke70 becomes my daily, I'll start looking at the 10 again as a project.

Do you reckon it has all the fittings and bits for a full reassemble?
Yeah I believe it does, just missing a couple of nuts and bolts. Although 1 panned was missing but I’ve already sourced it.

It will be acrylic base with 2 pack clear.
I’d rather both 2 pack but I’m doing it on the cheap and acrylic is what I have haha!
I considered acrylic clear to keep it the same but I’d rather the hardness of 2 pack.
Unfortunately we were all ready to go on Monday night and we jumped in the Pajero Tuesday morning and the Brake Controller faulted permantely locking on the brakes of dads trailer.
Found a mate however who is happy have a plug and play kit wired into his Hilux and we will be heading down to the Gold Coast on Saturday. Fingers crossed for some better weather as well.

So it’s finally time and tomorrow morning I’m travelling to the goldy to pick up my Ke70 project.
It’s currently in pieces and has already had rust cut out and fixed up so the first thing that I plan to do to it, is strip it fully and begin paintworks. As a tribute to my first ever car, I have decided to paint it green :O
My dearly beloved Toyota Lexcen, bought for $50 off the back of a mates swamp and done up as a replica HSV SV5000 commo (but with SV89 body kit, go figure), was sadly written off after a very intimate encounter with a roo.
So to revive some of my dearest memories I decided to paint my new Toyota in the same colour.
Now, I haven’t painted in 6 years but nonetheless it’s something I can’t wait to do again.
Pics of Ke70 to come tomorrow.
Ps. Me painting green when I was 14.
Ha. That rhymed. Painter and a Poet.

Gday mate, welcome to the club.
such a great little car, many fun times ahead .
reckon your first thing will be an engine and you may was well grab yourself a 5k, and a 5speed box to suit if you can still find one.
happy hunting and enjoy.
cheers Justin
Thanks mate! Hoping to pickup a 4K 4 speed on Saturday as well but waiting to hear back from the seller.
Will need a lot of hand building her up!

can't wait to see pics. Most people start a project thread in rides and projects. That way you can keep a diary of your ideas, maintenance and plans and the members can chime in and help you where needed or just generally comment.
Thanks for the info! I’ll jump over there and start one up when I get the pics.
Fun times ahead!

Hi Rollaclub!
First of all thanks for having me! My name's Connor, I'm 21 years old and I live on the Sunny Coast of Qld, Australia.
This Saturday I am purchasing myself a little 69' Ke10 Corolla with no engine or box and missing a few other parts. It has been a dream of mine for a while now to own one of these and it will be my first ever project car. I hope it to end up as my daily driver.
So as a corolla noob, and having only ever doing oil changes and installing a radiator in my stock v6 commo, I'm going to need a lot of help. So my first question is, where should I start? I will have photos up on Saturday.
Thanks so much in advance!
~Connor

Here she is, I never posted putting back together as I said I would, because it took me waaayyy tooooo long and i couldnt be bothered.
This her in current glory, she is my daily now.
If anyone is interested in helping, I'm looking for:
Not going to do driftos, not slamming, just want something beautiful to look at that isn't at 4x4 height, with a nice speed, good grip and smooth handling. (I want a car that is nice to drive, that could keep until I die and not get frustrated with.)
I have an AE71 4ac subframe waiting for me, no hassle for me going weld on engine mounts, unless anyone recommends them for mounting it further back for better handling?
Also have 4AGE waiting for me to do the suspension first. I eventually will want/need a T gearbox, driveshaft, clutch everything etc to go with.
On another note, for anybody just buying their new baby with no money to mod properly, I can recommend replacing all your bushings ($100), giving it light 15x7's with 0 offset for reduced unsprung weight (it really matters) and 195/50's with good grip, running them at 40/42 psi, don't cut your springs it's not worth the trouble and discomfort and everything else that comes with it.
Also in my opinion:
Hope that has some value to you.
Here is my baby what do you think?
