  2. Yeah I fucked it off and just linked it together, got the current back and power again. The battery is 550CCA heaps of AMPS. Got it fired up she's running again but I'd say it needs a tune, I'll take it for a drive tomorrow to see if its still doing the same thing. I didn't put that fuse in I found it in the line hahaha

Morning !   Something serious going on here !  You haven't given us a lot to go on, so I'll ask a few more questions, & see if we can narrow it down.

I assume by "got a few cracks out of it", you mean the engine fired, or ran for a very short time, then went dead ?

Do any other electrical items work, or are all the cars electrics dead ?  Lights ?  Horn ?  Heater Fan ? Etc.

Are any fuses blown ?  If so, which ones ?

Is the fusible link near the battery positive terminal intact ?

I am assuming by "no dash lights", you mean no warning lights, like oil & battery/charge lights ?

I might have to come across Bayside, & give you a hand.

Electrical faults are always simple to fix. The hard part is finding them. You best friend is a multimeter or test lamp.

    Cheers Banjo

Yeah i got the engine turning over a few times it fired but didn't start then it went dead, no dash lights no horn, no stereo, no power. It couldn't see a blown fuse and still have to check the in line fuse. I'll have a fuck around over the weekend I bet its something stupid.

If you wanna come have a look at her in the weekend be my guest man I'll flick you some cash for your troubles.

  4. Morning man. Thanks for the advice. So got the valves and timing done, new battery and got a few cracks out of it and all of a sudden no dash lights no power at the ignition. I'm starting to think she might be cursed hahaha. Any thoughts

  5. Hey man. Was wondering if you might be able to help again. So I just did the head gasket on my 4k it runs and idles sweet but as soon as I put load on it/drive its struggling hard! I was thinking maybe valve clearance as I think the gasket was slightly thicker I also had the dizzy out to paint the block. Anyway here's a pic of what I've done to the engine bay

  6. Yeah man. I figured it out because the battery us located in the in the boot all I needed to do was run a cable from the battery back to the battery on the B+ line. Thanks for the help again there is a 40amp fuse running from the positive terminal. Just been de looming the engine bay. I'll keep you posted for sure when shes good to go I'll bring it over if you want to see her in real life

  7. Hey man i got my cert plate and the road worthy on Friday, just spent the last few days getting the seals and gaskets replaced on the engine.

  8. Finding a 5 speed is definitely the best step i know exactly what you mean they hum perfectly on the motorway in 5th.

Its got a shortened commador diff in it have no idea of ratio but its solid as fuck and the diff head is massive compared to a k series diff.

Thanks for being so helpful mate good to see theres still people around who love these cars and want to help out.

    I live in Manly

  9. Its should be getting its road worthy today (fingers crossed) she runs and drives like a dream. Running 4k with 4 speed but I'll look for a 5 speed soon as I know they both straight up. I love bayside. The only thing electrical left is the alternator. I'll see how I go but I wouldn't mind a hand my brother is helping out. Shes been in a garage since 2007 and has just had a buff and clean out its a little weapon and down the track will get a 1JZ as the diff, brakes, suspension are already upgraded

  10. Hey gents ive got this show room ke20 and the last thing she needs is the alternator wiring done does anyone have a wiring diagram that can help its a 1974 with a 4k. Its the only thing I can't figure out and don't want to mess it up
