    thanks.all i'm doing is painting afew little bits and going to fix the trim alittle.

    and with the coilovers.i bought the sleev kits and welded them to my ke30 struts,bought low inserts to suit and bobs your uncle.fitted to the car no worries at all.

  3. sarp rollaclub, havent put up a members ride since my first car so here i am to do it again.

     

    swapped my rusty old 70 wagon for this 1975 ke30!

    its stock, and needs a new drivers front quarter panel (are early ones and late ones the same?) and a boot. so if anyone in Adelaide has a white one for sale let me know :cool:

     

    havent been able to give it a clean yet due to the crappy weather in SA, interiors pretty overrated, needs a new back seat (the back part) and a few tears in the front seats which i'll prob get stitched up. i spent today mounting and hooking up an electric fan. basically 2 metal brackets along the front holding in place and a switch in the cabin which goes the the coil and then to the fan, he other wire to the battery. i thought i did a pretty decent job and the switch looks like it was always meant to be there!

    plans are to just make this a nice cruise, pretty much lowered on whitewalls with black steelies and chrome hubcap and trims, a nice sound system to keep me happy, front visor (anyone got one for sale?) and most probably a 4k down the track

    hi there.it was awhile ago but fairmont wreckers at wingfield had above average ke30 wreck . try them for your front panel? and boot i do know the car was white..
  4. Everything bolts up fine, need to cut a hole.

    Speedo was fine.

    By memory the clutch cable seemed to be a bit short (not %100)

    Might need to change the plugs for the reverse light.

    yeh thanks for that.i'm going to do the same.how short is or was the clutch cable? sorry to be fussy but like you i need my car daily.and i can only change it on week ends. cheers

  5. hi there.can i ask when you put the ke70 box to the 5k motor.did you have to change the tail shaft?

    i want to do the same with my ke30. with the gear stick closer to me.i'm assuming the box bolted up to the motor without any trouble?. i have a 5k motor with a 4 speed in my car.

    was there any hassle with the speedo cable.. cheers andy

  6. other than after market seats,does any one know or has installed themselves seats from a later model corolla?or simular.i have a ke30.i would go to the wreckers,but i would like to know if you have done this to your own car.or could recommend later model seats that fit without to much modifitcation?

  7. I went to get my Ke55 stuts converted into coilovers today, and the guy at the suspension

    place sugested that use AE86 struts instead, he said that he can use better shocks into it

    and you get the added bonus of bigger brakes. Now that all sounds sweet to me, but i did not know that

    this was possible. he insures me that it all bolts up.

    Has any used this combo into a Ke55?

    And what if any problems did you have?

    i have just done this conversion myself.its pretty easy,once you have a drop saw and mig welder.i bought off the shelf a coilover kit from queensland.it fits the 48mm dia shaft of the strut.also bought 8kg springs.and with a lot of homework not from a suspension company found a pair of gas inserts to fit.this bolts up with out any worries at all, all i have done is converted the top have of the hole strut,leaving the bottom half to bolt straight on.no bigger brake conversion needed.if your intersted i'll tell you more.

  8. If your going up a hill then its most likely a pickup issue than the pump! Does it do it with a full tank of petrol?

    yeh thanks for your reply,but yeh it does it anytime,i try and not have less than half a tank at any time.

    On my 5K I run a 3K fuel pump with no issues so if it is the pump maybe it is broken?

     

    Or also try fuel lines of tank pick up?

  10. hi there,i have a rebuilt 5k motor with a 3k fuel pump.now the car runs really well,doesnt miss,on the flat it doesnt starve for fuel,if anything its good on petrol until i go up acertain hill.it nearly cuts out.i have rang a carby rep and he says to look at the fuel pump.my question is,is a 3k fuel pump different to a 5k fuel pump?also the carby is from a 3k[the carby rep says the carby is big enough].any suggestions thanks

  11. You can't just go out and buy it new over the counter, All setups will usually be second hand unless you fabricate your own manifold to run its own single/quad throttle bodies. Do you intend on installing it yourself? What is your budget?, What do you want to achieve with having EFI?, Do you intend on turbocharging/supercharging the motor? There are a lot of questions you have to ask yourself before you can come to a conclusion of what way you want to go and asking us to decide for you isn't really the best idea as we have no background of your car.

     

    The most simple way to get EFI on a K motor is a 4K-E setup or a 7K-E setup, As you haven't referred to either one in your first post I'm not aware of how much you know about these setups. Most of the info is in the FAQ link I posted, If there is something that is not there 99.9% of the population here would usually help to answer it for you.

There are lots of threads with the information about EFI on K motors on this website, If you took your time and had a good read then I'm sure you will be able to come back to us with a more specific question. There are lots of different options to take when converting to EFI so it is no good asking us what is going to be the best way for you.

    ok, sorry if i don't sound as bright as most of the people on this site but i thought my question was valid.my specific question was where can i buy a bolt on efi to suit a 5k engine.having a ke30 myself i thought maybe what better site to go to, the rolla site itself -maybe i was wrong?.

  14. eoi:i am interested in getting efi for my 5k,does anyone know where we go to find out information on buying one over the counter.i have seen second/hand ones,but i would like everything that comes with the efi just to bolt on. any leads? thanks for any advise......aj
