Good to see you posting again, Geoff. The whole project turned out to be a huge snowball 😞 I saw the MCM guys put a 2TR in an old Hilux recently. It looked to be a pretty tall engine. You sure it'll fit in there without a scoop?

Just watched Mr. Papadakis' video on his TA22 restoration. Love his videos ❤️ Says he used some Holley period-look-but-LED headlight replacements, much safer and they look great Fairly sure they're smaller diameter than KE26 headlights but I imagine they have other sizes

this does sound like a neat solution but my experience with the VAG squirters has not been good

there are powered welding helmets that give you a nice clean air supply; I believe the air supply part is generally called "PAPR"? They're not cheap but they're probably cheaper than whatever the argon etc eventually does to you I've heard that they also help with fogging if you're a glasses-wearer If you watch Cutting Edge Engineering on YouTube (recommended!) you'll occasionally see that guy using one Great to see some more progress here 🙂 edit: found one.
