With the battery connected and car running it charging at 13.8v with both terminals off battery while running its about 16v. If i can't fix it soon I'm going to just get an after market one and find a place to mount it. Cheers 79rolla

Hey mate so it wasnt connected to the sender when I measured it. But Just checked now and still no change in it working. Car is about 1/2 full at the moment. And the temp sender is disconnected and has been for a while. But with the fuel sender wire not connected it only reads the 9v other wise with connected only 5v. So I'm going to try the reg but ill see how it goes and update you later.. Cheers 79rolla

Battery went flat yesterday with key on but I will mate. Cheers 79rolla

Yeah mate. I know that my alternator isnt good as it charges at 16v at the moment Cheers 79rolla

So I'm getting 9v at the wire for the sender. Is that right? Thats at the fuel tank itself. Or do I have other problems? Cheers 79rolla

So i have the 10v at where is shows that it should on the cluster. At this point I'm going through ground wires, but not 100% sure where they all are and if that may be the problem. Cheers 79rolla

Thanks altezzaclub. Just pulled the plugs yesterday amd 2 were a little white or white ish. With 1 grey and 1 covered in oil. Timing isnt see 100%, it is just set by eye. Ive changed the plugs twice in the month of may, due to the first time a similar ish problem with misfiring but it was when it was warmed up. And that time was just a fouled plug. But changed them yesterday and they weren't fouled at all. I can confirm that the ignition condenser isnt connected and never has been with this engine. (Engine been in 18 months) and it never acted up with it disconnected. Anyways, which side does it connect to? The positive side of coil or negative? Cheers 79rolla

Umm so i'm getting -61ohms at the cluster. Yes I'm using a cheap multimeter but -61 doesnt seme right. What should it be at? 100? The tank is probably about half to 3 quarters full. Also the gauge only moves with a ground wire straight to sender. Cheers 79rolla

This is what the back of my cluster looks like. 1 other question for you banjo, would you know why it only sometimes gets power? Cheers 79rolla

No no sorry banjo. Didn't mean to repost. I was trying to get back to the post. It has helped me out mate. Cheers 79rolla

Hey guys and girls, I have some questions for you all. So i have a 79 ke55 and I am having a few troubles with it. The temp gauge doesn't work when connected, the fuel gauge has stopped working now after a while of working on and off. As well as the speedo doesnt work properly. What I mean by the speedo not working properly is that at 60 it says 60 by the speedo, but at 100 the speedo reads at 120. As well as the blue sheet on the back of the cluster doesn't like being tightened properly (doesnt let gauges work when tight) at what I believe is the regulator for the fuel and temp gauges. What could be the causes for this? Why is the speedo out? Why is the fuel gauge not working? Hope this makes sense for everyone to read. Cheers 79rolla

Its only on a really cold night that it does it. Or a medium cold night. So below about 20c out side temp is when it does it. It happens with the choke off. Last night we drove for about 5 or 10 mins after warm up. Cheers 79rolla

Condenser isn't connected and hasn't been since the engine got put in. But with the Condenser disconnected it hasn't done this before. Points we don't think are 100% but yet again it hasn't really done it before. The last time it acted like this is when I had a nice fireball through the carby. So yeah idk what else or what is doing it. Thanks for a bit of an idea altezzaclub. Cheers 79rolla

Hey everyone I would like to have another opinion or 2 as to what my troubles might be. I took my 79 corolla out last night and it seemed to be misfiring. But this was only for about 5 minutes of driving. When we got on the highway it come good. But it has done this twice or three times now, and I would like to know what you guys think it might be. Cheers 79rolla

Thanks altezzaclub. I will have a bit of a sus and see. It could be the voltage reg but not 100% sure. I know that is a common fail point. Cheers 79rolla

Ok i might try that now. I have gotten it to open a bit just don't know how far it will open at this point as I just swapped vacuum lines around. But I might try it. Cheers 79rolla

Hey guys just wondering what could be causing my 79 ke55 to shut off under moderate braking. We also don't seem to be getting full throttle with the vacuum secondary not seeming to open up. What do you guys think. I'm puzzled as to why its doing both of these things. Just would like to see what others think of it. Cheers 79rolla
-
Yeah thanks guys. Just wanted a idea as to whether you guys think they need to be replaced. Its both sides and they haven't been done in at least 25 years as the car has been off the road for about 25. Only just got back on the road and it never had movement or sound previously.. Cheers 79rolla

Hey guys and girls just wondering how much play if any should be in both front wheel bearings. Both seem to have some play (only a little bit) but has a audiable click when moving wheel at 12 and 6. Just want an opinion on what you people think. I can't attach video but want to know what is good and bad. Cheers 79rolla

Thanks parrot. I will definitely make sure that I am careful tomorrow arvo when I change the springs over as I have seen how far they can shoot shit across the floor. Cheers 79rolla

Hey guys just wondering how i take the coil springs off the front struts of my ke55 corolla. I have the springs compressors there but I have been told that it can't be done at home. Just wanting to know whether I can change the springs out my self without sending them to be done at a shop and costing a shit ton of money. Cheers 79rolla

Thanks parrot What I am thinking is just getting adapters to fit the parcel shelf Cheers 79rolla

Thanks parrot. Yeah not necessarily looking for it to look factory. Now I just need to find some speakers that will work. Cheers 79rolla
