yeah its got pedders in it at the moment, but il invest in some decent ones soon, probably when i get rid ot those gay wheels i bought it with
-
no point in stuffing around trying to do it the way u are, id say use it with a thermo switch, I'm abit rusty with the actual wiring, but if you get a thermo switch, it usualy comes with most of the suff you need including wiring diograms
-
thanks for everyones replys by the way, ive finally found a decent 2tg for a decent price after looking for ages, I'm going to do a rebuild on it anyway, so I'm thinking whatever parts i can find at the time of the rebuild ill put in for now, probably 2t crank and conrods, larger cams and abit of a bore out (not shure how much yet).
-
yeah cheers mate!
-
i have a feeling corona rear disks pretty much bolt straight onto a hilux diff, it bolted onto my celica which has the hilux lsd fitted
-
ouch! they better have plated them in gold! :D yeah i know pleanty of people whove been bitten in the arse by ebay buying extractors. i work at an exaust shop and belive me, its usualy cheaper in the long run to by a decent set like pace makers, plus the ones on ebay usualy arent even tuned length which means they do nothing for performance. personaly for those tricky cars i get pacemakers, they seem to do the job
-
t3? got an internet site at all?
-
yeah the brakes are good, crona disks and calipers on the front and the back, bolted straight on pretty much, I'm looking at the suspention at the moment, its lowered and bump steers heaps, still it handles like it on rails
-
i bought a celica a while ago with lowerd springs, and as much as i like how it looks, its just not great to drive, bump steers alot, and could probably be a bit stiffer. has anyone here made bump steer blocks for a ta22? if so, how hard is it, or even better can you buy them anywhere? i figure if i can't sort it out, ill go back to standard hight
-
yeah thats probably the way to go i recon, but I'm probably going to end up wanting more, plus id like injection but i know the injection manifolds for the 2tg is crap and the only way to get the same power as webbers is with quad throttle bodys, but thats going a little overboard! it all depends on if i can get an exeption to the p plate rules i suppose
-
yeah thats true, i don't realy know whart I'm going to spend on it, the cheapest most effectave way id say! i know what ever i do wont end up being cheap anyway but yeah ill just see how it goes, gonna do all the work my self anyway cause I'm fairly experianced in the whole engine conversoion thing so i know they usualy go over budget.
-
yeah the thaught crossed my mind, but if a cop pulls me up and decides to look over the car, at least the engine block will be a 2t, i suppose it depends how smart a cop i get, if i can get an exeption then ill probably not even botehr with the older options and go with some sort of injected turbo 4 cylender
-
yeah id prefer the 4age, but id need an engeneering cert for that, and cause of the new p plate restrictions, i wouldnt legaly be aloud to drive it, hopefully i can get an exeption but it would probably be during work hours
-
mate, id go for converting it to disks all round before you start throwing money at a booster, itl improve it abit, but a booster will only brake as much as the brakes let it:)
-
personaly i don't think it does nothing, those engines at used engine shops sit there for years and noone complains, if your reeealy conserned, pump a few squirts in the combustion chambers before you start it to free up any siezed rings
-
Mate if i had to choose between the two, id be going v6, like everyone sais, its the best bang for your buck, and it WILL handle, its not like your putting a 2tone v8 in it. But personaly id be going a turbo 4. i hear nothing but bad stories about rotors when it comes to reliability when you thrash them, ive put many a turbo 20v in those ol rollas
-
actualy i have done my resurch, the only reson i havnt done it all yet is because I'm still looking around, plus boaring out may be old school, but a ta22 isnt exactly new. the only reson I'm not going turbo is because if the p plate restrictions, i want an engine which still resembles a naturaly aspirated 2tg. last of all the only reson I'm going forged pistons is because there not too bad in price and i want to do it right the first time, if i want to turbo it i don't want to have to replace too much
-
yeah i know there fairly the same power figures, but i realy just want a 3t for its crank, I'm going to boar it out to around 2 liters and put some forged pistons in it
-
Well baisicly i need a 3t block with pistons and crank, well pretty much everything but the head because i want to put the 2tg yamaha twin cam head on it, which i allso need to find. don't need a gear box because I'm pretty shure the one on the back of my 2t shud bolt up
-
sweet as! thanks for that, I'm thinking the 3t will go better too plus it seems to be hard to find the parts for a 2t 3t build
-
my old ta22 has no guts, seriously, i walk faster! Anyway i need some advice, are 3t engines easy to put in a ta22? (Its got the old 1600 2t) if thats too much trouble, i was considering building a 2tg/3t hybrid Any suggestions??
