  1. I'm in need of a front brake upgrade and a diff upgrade. either to buy or advice on what i can do. currently have a 1.8 turbo engine and need brakes and diff that will also keep engineer happy.
  2. 2 wires come from side indicator. and 2 wires come from the indicator parker combo on front apron. so I'm guessing side indicator has a earth but the front doesn't. any idea what colour wires is the earth on the loom on passenger side for blinkers to check it? running out of ideas and want to drive it but don't like driving with no blinkers. was also thinking flasher unit but that wouldn't cause the parker to stay on when the left hand blinkers stay on.
  3. Thanks for quick reply... You seem confident there so ill have a look. Where exactly is the earth for the front indicators on the loom? Would you know what colour wires. Also Sines the conversion I don't get reds on dash.only indicator arrows fuel and water temp work but nothing else...any ideas? Main thing ATM is the blinkers
  4. weird problem when i indicate left the blinker stays on... not only does it stay on the parker turns on not the blinker at front the side and rear blinkers just stay on right side works fine i may have disconested a few wires when doing the conversion but all plugs to indicators are correct and ideas guys?
  5. i did unbolt steering cause bolts hold both steering and pedal box but the actual pedal box seems wedged in.
  6. i have removed all bolts but don't want to budge.. is there any tips and tricks out there to remove and replace pedal box??? I'm guessing steering colomn must be dropped? any help much appreciated.
  7. was going to try an s13 rad..ill have to measure between the pipes.. good write up but seems like alot of work to fit that radiator and mines no show car..lol. was going to put a honda civic aluminium radiator..close to standard ke20 size but thicker and a shrouded fan for around 150. just thinking it may be a little small though.i have used 1 of these rads on a 4agte and seemed ok... random question but... on the top of the fuel tank there is like a breather hose and also another that come from engine bay and they seem to go under parcel shelf behind back seat..any idea where they go? cause I'm going to run a pump off the drain plug and wanting to conect a return.
  8. my pipes go through the factory wholes down the bottom.. would s13 rad clear? got any measurnments?
  9. any body know what radiator people usualy use on these engines or sr20 that will fit between the cooler pipes tat come through the factory holes down bottom of radiator support and that will fit before the bump starts on the bottom?
  10. didnt need to touch firewall or tunnel appart from shifter hole. made custom mounts have same problem with clutch master and still havent bothered to fix that yet. very intrested to see how you use the como struts as a have a vl for parts.
  11. also got some ke20 parts that I'm willing to swap for some type of clutch setup up aor a pedal box
  12. trust me i know. the small things are where the money adds up too.done it all before just not a ca into a ke funny you bring up clutch cause i still havent done it yet and would love more ideas how to go about it.
  13. good to know. but this thread is for ca and I'm guessing the other bloke was thinking its a similar job because the things he listed i had to do.
  14. i found it straight forward. done the mounts gearbox member and tunnel in under 1 day. had to move engine back an extra few mm to clear steering but all done now. brake booster fit in standard location so no problem there. just not sure about the clutch master atm.
  15. no matter how far back you put engine the steering hits the bracket from bellhousing to intake..so thinks thats gotta come off. still stuck on a clutch setup.. because engine so far back to clear steering i don't think there is room unless i put master cylinder on other side of booster (on accelerator side and make some brackets and rods up.. id love to see some setups with it on the inside of car or how ever people do it with larger engine in a ke20.
  16. so do you think use the vt master???cause it looks like half will be in firewall and half will be out..might have better clearance using that 1. kinda need it the shortest as possible.. also whats a clutch pedal i can use in conjunction with the vt master cylinder? this is my biggest worry at the moment..how I'm gonna get a clutch working.. all my mounts are done..very happy how it sits..have to make the gearbox crossmember tomorrow. gonna use middle section of a stock s13 and weld some square tube to either side to extend to the chassis rail..plans change but this is the plan for now. thanks guys so much..at the end ill put detailed info and pics so people in the future can do this conversion and save there money.
  17. any idea about the clutch setup? cause there is now way anythin is fitting between engine and fireawall. the booster just squeezes in.
  18. no idea how a clutch master will fit in there though..plenty of room with booster.
  19. today got engine in to sit there. had to take steering and sway bar out but 1ce in bolted back up. very tight fit between bellhousing and steering. not much gap between firewall. instead of making angle plates i got angled rubber mounts and are real close to bolting up without much welding or cutting at all. never been that lucky with conversions before.usualy have to make complete mounts up..thats why i asked cause sometimes there are little tricks that saves alot of work..gearbox lined up exactly inline with old crossmember so going to try use the borgy mount on ca box.hope i can pull it all off..time will tell i spose.
  20. the angle plates you made.. did you cut originals off and make some fresh angle plates up? or modify the original ke20 1s? and u even used stock rubbers ye? just thought would make life alot easier.. also did u have to drop that sway bar down?cause it hits. what should i take pics of exactly??? cheers for replies..
  21. ke70dave thanks for your time to write all that up.i appreciate it. removed motor today..that will prob end up in the bin. lowered ca in just to see whats happening. 1st prob i come across is the bar underneath.it hits the sump so can't lower engine down to even have a look. but i kinda see the the bellhousing has to clear the steering and the hump on sump has to clear the k frame and bar.so it can only go in 1 way as far as how forward or back engine sits..and the height i was going to get as low as i can without touching sump on k frame. the pics and details kedave posted are great..it has me thinking because i found that maybe the easiest way was to leave the standard ca mounts and rubbers and modify the standard mounts on the k frame to suit..so cut them off and make them shorter with the correct angle. so not sure what ill decide to do atm.
  22. the funds shouldnt be a problem.but i enjoy ddoing all the work myself so just wanted some pics and detailed advive by some1 that has done it before. i don't like the looks of stanard mounts either but i think I'm going to try use them and play with the k frame to suit them if its possible. the s13 pedal bolts to firewall and don't require a complete pedal box so was gonna try that.
  23. pretty basic answers there.lol.would like a little more detail by some1 that has done it before.thanks for your reply though. i can't find any detailed info anywhere.ive done engine mounts and crossmembers before for different conversions but i spose i want to get my head around it so i don't have to do things twice and no big suprises. but cheers for the brake advice..ill look into somethin a little better then what i have.
  24. decided to go with the ca18det and not an sr20 gonna make my own mounts and id love to see or talk to people that have done this before. few questions.. 1.how would i go about making the mounts and can the standard ca engine mounts be used with custom mounts on k frame? 2.have ke70 disc on fron..will they be enough? 3.can the stock ca gearbox cross member be used? 4.what clutch pedals can be used in a ke20? 5.will i have clearance issues with a ke70 booster and a clutch master? cheers guys.. I'm sure ill have more questions 1ce i get started.
  25. need to put a manual clutch pedal in a ke20. if i can't find a genuine ke20 pedal box what are my options that will fit??? was thinking a ke70??? any ideas??? cheers guys
