  1. hey all, jst wondering i want to put 13" superlite mags on my ke20 any advice on off-set, if any, so the face of th mags pretty mch sit flush with the body of th car, pretty much want 13" by 6" and the car diff ect. is all stock jst really want something that fills thos empty wheel wells, stockies jst don't cut it! cheers for any help Steve
  2. hey mate i'd be keen to hear how u go with setting this carb up and how well u get it running. i've got the same single dellorto but putting it on a 5k! havent gotten around to playing with it much in terms of getting it running ok! as for the vacum advance, as said, jst block it off.
  3. yeh i think i've narrowed it down to way to much fuel, i took the carby off after a run, and fuel was just sitting in the manifold. plus i could hear it sizerlying after i turned the car off. so i will play with the float level. still don't know why it blows back through the carby sometimes tho! however, the vacum in the distributer block is going syco! that little adjusting knob which is covered by a see through plastic case, that knob is going in and out and makeing a pretty loud tapping noise! This has got me pretty stumped!! any ideas?
  4. hey all ok i've just put a dellorto 40 sidedraft on and its backfiring through the rear barrel.also the gasket of the rear two cylinder is soaked with fuel as well. now the engine seemed to be running fine with the stock carby on it, a little rough at idle, but i put that down to having a stock carby on a sligtly worked 5K. putting this new carby on, i don't know if the engine is now showing the symptons because of the sidedraft and it now has two barrels so u can see that its got a problem, or there is something wrong with the carby. from what i know, i'm guessing its the engine, however i don't get why its running shit one one of the last two cylinders and not all of them. if it was a timing problem, i would of said all cyclinders would be firing in correct! hope this makes sence, any help would be great, i'm nearly ready to just sell the whole project! cheers Steve
  5. cheers for th reply guess i was pretty wrong, haha thanks again
  6. Real quick one There is a threaded hole in the top of manifolds of some carbys if not all of them, including the redline one i jst got. i'm guessing this is for a pressure line going to a guage of some kind would i be correct in saying? if not for a heat probe) (although i would of thought something like that would of been tapped into a cylinder) i've searched photos of other guys car engines, and some of them have a black rubber line running from this hole, some of them plugged! jst after some clarification thanks in advance cheers Steve (sorry for all th shit spelling)
  7. jst my 2 cents worth. with my 20, i've had so many guys offering to buy it. last week i had some dude follow me flashing, so i pulled over and yeh, he wanted to buy the thing. Get the random quick chats at sets of lights as well, don't get that in any other car! also, the comments from th GIRLS!!chics dig the little 20's! i worked in a pub for a while and the chics loved it! i've got a late model ute, and that doesn't get a look in against the 20, haha! loven it!!!
  8. cheers for th replys, i'll get some better photos up soon in th next few weeks, pretty flat out atm! yeh his car looks unreal! deffently planning on going the superlite option! hopefully sooner rather than later! i was debating wether to put it in the glove box or replace the old radio with a new head unit. think i'll go th glovebox tho, keep it all original! Steve
  9. mate.... well done on th 20, looks unreal!Tho's superlite jst finish it off! awsome job!
  10. Hey all been kicking around here on and off for a while, couple of questions here and there! thoughd i'd post up of what ive got Had this KE-20 for 7 years and over th last year started doing some stuff to it. It got given to me from my great Arnt, so its been in th family since new Its pretty mch original just with a few changes. Engine. -Was a 3K 3 (inculding reverse) speed auto -Now a 5K, shaved heads, mild cam, extractors with a 2" exaust. managed to get a T-50 box for it with th adapter, yay! still a stock carby Interior. - Pretty mch the same as 1973 but now manual, and going to change th stereo over, still havent decided where to put th new head unit tho - Dash is in overrated condition except for a small crack forming down th bottom right corner which i need to find something to fill - Still orginal seats, no rips or anything Suspension -All stock Wheels. -Stock Exterior. - Straight with no rust except for stone chips here and there - Few small dings from carpark cars, pull them out later! - Just replaced the front and rear window seals Future Plans. - Get some mags, hopefully superlites, looking at 13" and running as wide as i can, jst something to fill thos guards, haha - Install new stereo system - Lower it - KE-55 front break conversion - Replace th stock carby with a webber or something along thos lines - pull out any car park dings - might put the aircon unit back in, maybe, that would be one of th last things - Paint a few of th front guards around th lights Here is a couple of shots, get some more later when i've tidyed it up a bit
  11. hey all quick one, putting new window seals in th front and rear windows and not sure if to put them in with something or not? i've been told yes by some, and not to bother by others. the seals are new! thoughts? cheers Steve
  12. yeh, it was jst th main hole that the nut of the mount sits into! took 10 mins to drill out. suprised with th tunnel as well, only had to widen it slightly as well. i put up a post in ride projects over th next week of what i've been up to, hehe. there pretty fun cars to work on, not too hard if your not doing anything major!
  13. jst gota say, can't believe how everything just "bolted" in. using oringinal driveshaft and X'member from the auto(had to open up one of th holes for th mounts) everything just lined up which i was pretty bloody supprised about! so cheers for all th advice!
  14. jst wondering if someone can tell me if there th same, yes or no. more so provision for mounting th gearbox. so fare it lines up with the T-50 and everything looks good BUT the bolt on th bottom of th mount won't fit into the hole of th X-member because its to big. would this be the same on th manual X-member. if so, i'll jst oversize it to fit. if however the members are different and the manual has provision for this bigger nut, i'll jst get one of them hope that makes sence cheers in advanced
  15. Xany - Its going into a 73 KE-20, yeh if you have any info for it it would be awsome, cheers tojo2 - i've been told i can use th original cross member and just move it back to some pre-set provision holes. i'll find out when i give it a go this week, haha. all i'm now hunting for is a shifter, so hopefully i can get one somewhere without buy th whole bloody box. can't get hold of th guy i got the box/engine off tho, but i start hunting down th TA-22's at wreckers, hopefully i get lucky! cheers
