  1. Ive got a '97 Corolla and when you first turn on the car after several hours, no matter the weather, when you put it either in D or R the car jerks forward a bit. But if you turn it on about a hour or so later its fine. It just happens if you haven't turned the car on for about 5+ hours. Any ideas what the problem is?
  2. If it was the power steering belt wouldnt it squeak on every turn? Mine just makes a squeak on the very first turn after you turn the car on in the morning. Also there seems to be a squeaking noise when I brake. I think its coming from the left had rear tyre. It makes like a errrrrrr noise. I don't think its the brake pads because they were replaced last month.
  3. When the car is first turned on and you make a sharp turn there is a squeaking noise. But after that first turn there is no more squeaking. It sometimes happens if the car hasnt been used for several hours. Any ideas what it is? My car is a 1997 Corolla. Cheers
  4. Thanks for your help Hiro. I got the remote working. If you were from Melbourne I would have definitely bought you a beer or two.
  5. BUMP ^^^ Anyone?
  6. Hey Hiro I got just a new remote from Toyota and was wondering if you could scan/explain the section in your owners manual on how to program the new remote into the immobiliser. Cheers
  7. Few more questions. How on earth do you open the remote? I'm trying to change the battery, but the thing just wont open. Also when pushing the water button for the windscreen are the wipers suppose to turn a few times? Because mine don't. When I push the button the water squirts and thats all.
  8. I rang Autobarn and they can order one in for me for $45. What about the boot light Hiro? Does the light have a cover over it? I just want to make sure I get all the necessary parts when I go to the wreckers.
  9. Ive got a few more questions. 1. How do you remove the tail lights? Ive removed the nuts on the inside and removed the two screws. The housing is a bit loose but it seems to be stuck somewhere. I don't want to put too much force fearing ill break it. 2. The boot globe was busted but I also noticed that the grey plastic bit which you plug the globe in is broken. I'm going to go to the wreckers hopefully over the weekend. Does the boot light have a cover over the globe? Because all mine had was a small grey plastic bit which was connected to the wiring.
  10. Thanks for your help Hiro. You're a f**king champion! I'm going to bid for the owners manual on ebay and buy the workshop manual over the weekend. Cheers again.
  11. Thanks for the reply guys. Appreciate it. Hiro does the Gregory workshop manual show how to dismantle dash or explain about the remote control port or does it just explain the mechanical/electrical side of the car? Also I only got one set of key and remote with the car. I'm going to get a key cut and want to get a spare remote. This is the current remote I have which has a grey plastic piece in the each corner at the top. Is this the stock one? Do I buy them from Toyota and how much approx will it set me back? And do I program it at Toyota like you said above Hiro?
  12. I just bought a 1997 Corolla Conquest sedan and have a few questions. 1. The transmission light (ie. P, R, N, D, 2, L) does not light up when I turn the headlights on. How do I change this globe? 2. Is there a light in the boot? 3. In the glove box there is a black box in the top right corner. Anyone have a clue what it is? Here are some pics 4. Is this the correct owners manual? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-1994-COROLLA...3QQcategoryZ102 572QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 5. A few lines on the rear demister don't work. Any fixes? 6. A small bit of the roof lining is sagging down. Can I fix it myself or should I take it to professional? 7. On most of the doors the seals are poor, so you have to put some force (not a lot, but some) when closing the door. Is there a special silicone or something I can put on the seals to make them close easier? 8. The amber tail lights are water logged. I'm going to take them off tomorrow and dry them, but what can I do to prevent them getting water logged in the future? Also the amber taillights are fadding. Is there something I can do to get them amber again? Sorry about the large amount of questions but I just was to get the Corlloa in the best shape I can get it in. Thanks heaps!!
  13. Thanks for the reply guys. Where abouts can I get the cluster repaired? Also I was just driving it and when I turned the car headlights on the transmisson lights didnt turn on. The light that should light up the P, R, N, D, 2 and 1. How do I go about changing the globe?
