i also spotted this maroon/burgundy 30 with venetians that everyone seems to be spotting. it was on honeypot rd the other night bout 7pm, seemed to be a young guy driving it. i gave him the thumbs up :D . nice clean ride by the looks of it.
  2. alrighty guys, its been a while i know but with the wedding only weeks away so the projects on hold for now. although i do have a few little things i need to do before hand and i have a few questions for ya. i want to change the steering wheel but it already has sports one on it. if i buy another wheel, will the boss kit need changing aswell or are they a universal fit? i've never had a sports steering wheel before so i'm a bit clueless on these, sorry. also need to upgrade the headlights to something brighter (cos its like driving by candlelight :) ) has anyone done this?, if so what to? hopefully after the wedding i'll get my exhaust done and buy new extractors. it just too loud atm. anyone got suggestions size wise, i want performance rather than note. hope u guys can help! cheers kate

  8. oh and the fact u have to take out a small loan to pay for all day parking in the city ;)
  9. hahaha considering he works in the city that would have been quite cruel ;) he usually gets the train but they didnt have one running that early, don't blame them i wouldnt have been awake either if i had the choice
  10. thanks, it took quite a bit of work to get her where she is today (and theres still a bit to be done). sorry i didnt cruise, but seeing as it was heading out north it was too much to drive that way then have to head back down south to get home (especially when i had to drive the fiance to work at 530 this morning) hoopefully next time i can hang round longer ;)
  11. awesome, i'll come along if i can get the car going. i might have to bring the battery pack to jumpstart her at every stop though :D

  14. were u in a red car??? corolla i think???? i was goin too quick to look properly
  15. nah we had to cut the holes ourselves, wasnt too bad we just had a few probs lining up the holes. cos the carpet isnt an exact mould of what we pulled out we found they didnt line up properly. another tip is if ur putting in new underlay aswell keep as much of the old ones to trace around, gives you a perfect fit. have fun :P
  16. more pics :y: still got to do the wheel arch covers and fit the seat covers better, but they can wait for another weekend.
  17. just realised i havent got "finished" photos, i'll take some today then put them later :y:
  18. hahaha not a chance :-) well finally put some new carpet in, looks sweet as. also got some black seat covers for the moment until i get the seats re-upholstered. awesome news on the motor front. i took the beast to dave hopkins (as recommended by a few of u guys) and he fixed the running problems, with out any trouble. he is an awesome guy and i'll def take my car back to him. he's even impressed my fiance and he's gonna take his car there too from now on. problem turned out to be a gasket missing from the carby, which made the carby rest on the accelerator thingy ma gig (can't think of the name grrrr) which in turn made it a bitch to drive. he also jetted the carby and now it purrrrs like a kitten. just gotta get myself a new starter motor now, and some new extractors and she'll be even better :y: heres piccies of the carpet (old carpets for sale if any one wants it)
  19. hmmmm.....def keen, should be able to make it i reckon
  20. cheers guys. can't wait to get this thing running properly so i can bring out on a decent cruise. it looks so much better in real life. gonna look into rebuilding a 5k and either putting twin su's, turbo or supercharger on it. just havent decided on which one yet. motors probably gonna be a slow build cos i need the car running for my wedding in january, so i can't risk it not being on the road. so rather get the 4k running sweet and swap it for the 5k in about 9 to 12 months.
  21. shit, didnt realise it had been so long. not much has changed. the rolla still in the garage. i think i have managed to drive all of two times :-( went to start her up just over a week ago and she just clicked.....nothing, no turn over. figuring it was battery, went and bought a newie. still nothing. dad was down for a visit (and pretty sure it was the starter motor) rocked the car back and forward and managed to get her whirring, but no turnover. my fiancees mate shane who painted the car, came down yesterday with a starter motor, popped her in (no easy feat) and she turns over (but only when she feels like it). it looks like the wiring is causing a shit load of problems. he found melted plastic cover for the spade clip from the aftermarket bosch starter (which is bigger than the genuine toyota) and cos it was bigger, it was too close to the extractors and melted the plastic and screwed the connection. guess in some cases is best to stick to genuine parts. anyway the plan is to pull out all the shit wiring, for crap that is no longer there (e.g under car neons) and redo the wiring from scratch, and hope she turns over properly. still no luck with the exhaust leak, i reckon it worse than ever. gonna try and sort that out at the same time as re-wiring. i'd just like to thank toyota for robbing me of my money and making my car run worse than ever. never again will i take it to "professionals". stick to the old school dealers who actually know what a carby is and don't rely on computers to tell them what to do. any way just my two cents (thats all i have left :sob: )
  22. cheers guys. yeah scotty i live down south. dontget a chance to drive her much, she still runs a lil weird and no thermo fan at the moment so she staying the garage at the moment. not planning to do a alot of lowering just want to close up the gap a bit. really don't want to attract the cops attention. will have to look at quietning the exhaust aswell, its so loud you can't talk to other people you have to shout :-)
  23. yeah will have to drop the front for sure. not sure bout the rear though.
