  1. Seeing as the weather was so perfect today, i spent another afternoon in the driveway cleaning. . . Vacuumed whole car out, wiped all surfaces and sprayed silicone spray on hard surfaces especially the dash. Below is before and after photographs. Hopefully the crack doesn't get much bigger soon. Before anything::: (ignore the dots, they're just shadows) After a clean and spray::: I also went through the stuff that was in the glove box and check out what i found :yak: Full set of manuals for the car::: Lots of receipts dating back to 99' . . also had the previous owners Dorevitch Pathology form - hope he didn't need that While I've got the time I'm just slowly going through and fixing minor details before the RWC is done and it's rego'd. Can anyone tell me, just infront of the centre console, is there meant to be a black plastic thing. . i guess you'd call it a liner? Like under the handbrake. I can just see the tops of screws and I'm wondering if I'm missing that part. . .
  2. thanks for all your support, it really makes me want to keep it in perfect condition. i wish i could keep it in a garage but however as I'm still living at home, my dads cars take priority and there's not a chance in hell of me convincing him that a toyota should be garaged over old school english cars. but i guess it's his garage that he paid for. . . Forever Black sounds like a good idea, when I'm next at a car shop i'll look out for some. I havn't even started polishing the paint yet, my arm was sore enough after all the chrome and bumper bars. For the chrome i did use Autosol Shine, which i found under the sink. . . mum uses it for the steel appliances LOL I just used my fingers to rub it into the chrome until it turned black and then wiped it off until it was shiney. I attempted a spot on the wheels with Autosol, but it really didn't make a huge difference to it so I didn't bother continuing. To be honest, I don't even like the look of those mag wheels, so I can't wait to get them off and get those gold SSR's i mentioned on for a while. I'll just keep the stockies in the garage for safe keeping and emergencies. Any other suggestions that you can think of? I'm outside right now trying to stop my dash splitting anymore. It only has a TINY crack beginning. Silicone spray is my best mate today. Just remembered, I'm on the look out for a boot lip to fit ke70. . . if anyone can help me out. . . well. . hi-five and kudos to you.
  3. thanks for the advice, i never would have thought of that.
  4. i have a csXX ke70 83. on the dash on the passenger side i have the tiniest of cracks beginning. its right where the little plastic edge is to divide the two compartments. how do i stop it from getting worse? i don't like the look of a dash cover so is there anything else i can do? is silicone spray the best option? and to try keep it out of direct sunlight as much as possible? thanks. leah
  5. cheers. iv read a lot of other people issues with fuel tank pick up sensors, i guess i'll just try and few things when i next have time to waste and see what does/doesn't work.
  6. I'm glad you like it :y: iv been reading lots about springs and conversion options, there's just so many ideas out there that its hard to pinpoint ONE and stick with it. i guess i should just make up my mind already. Thanks a lot for your advice, at least you know what you're talking about, unlike me :) but I'm learning. . slowly. . I'll take all your advice in and somehow come out with a decision to make it not sit at such a horrible ride height. Ugh. I'll update as soon as i know what i'm doing. teehehe.
  7. storey goes:::the fuel gauge does read correctly when you first fill the tank and then it just drops down again. i can't work out why, its not like i turn a corner and the fuel moves off the sensor. . it just doesn't register. have other people had this problem? and what should i do about it? I'm not sure what order to check things in. . . . any help would be muchos appreciated. thanks. Leah.
  8. ssuuurreeeee you're not. i believe you. not. i want my parker lights already! fingers crossed they'll be here monday or tuesday. ohh yeah i completely forgot until now, when i got the car it had pretty bad front wheel bearings. . Matt fixed them up for me real good. YAY. so now theyre schweettt as bro. didn't need replacing just tightening. woop woop.
  9. as if you'd wana swap flat front to slant front!? shattered.
  10. that sounds about right. GENIUS! who drives through fresh tar!?!? what gimps. thats SO annoying. i'll try that prepsol and let you know how it goes. i noticed you're sarcasm there. . . not appreciated!!!! :y:
  11. it makes me really annoyed though just looking at it :y: but if its tree sap. . . who drives over a tree that could somehow flick sap from the wheels onto the car? I dunno either. . but. . its hell annoying to look at. if i re-spray the bonnet the rest of the car will look shit too. the roof is rather faded and patchy. ahhh well. can't complain. took it for a l'plated drive today. i love that 5pseed hehehe.
  12. cleaned up the black bits today while it was parked in the street in the arvo sun. . .bumpers and uber cool racing stripes :y: probably do have too much time on my hands, but hey, its the weekend. right?
  13. I'm not the one with 'el pimpo' as my status. . . i joke. 16head tape deck pick up ftw :y:
  14. Updates::: Gave the ksev its first wash today, all be it a quick one in the driveway. Came up reasonably good. . . however now I realise how shit the paint actually is :) Bonnet fade is hell bad which makes me quite the sad. On the front left quarter, at the bottom underside it looks as though its been driven through wet sand and then left to dry, i thought it was just dirt at first and that i could wash it off- and no matter how hard i tried i couldn't get it off =( Unfortunately it has sprayed onto the bottom of the door and the sil. No ideas as how to get it off. For some reason, when i bought the car it only had half a mud guard on the right rear wheel, so that was removed today. Spent the afternoon polishing my chrome bruuu. Came up quite a treat, but now highlights my shit paint. Free re-spray anyone? Photos:::: If only it was this shiney all the time :y: Bonnet fade, the left is much more pink in real life, right is more red. 3 panel sand damage or something, turns out could be fresh tar with gravel. . . ;) tear. Chrome Shiney and Clean. . .sorta. . .
  15. hey! that casette player has old worldey charm. IT STAYS! (for now)
  16. I have yet to see another ksev in Greensborough/Watsonia area but I'll be looking out now that i know you're out there. I'm off Riversdale Rd. I may or may not be lacking my own drivers license. . . . minor inconvenience. That wouldn't stop me however. :y:
  17. i think we've made a lot of people jealous with our mirrors :y: i really want to keep those plates but i don't know how thats going to happen, because its not registered at the moment, will they make me get those new ugly blue ones? I'm in camberwell. parker lenses should be arriving monday or tuesday hopefully. i have ssr formula mesh 15x7.5 -1 to borrow for a while. should make it look much better. bulb for rear number plate will go in soon. . . so lazy. . .
  18. i was blow drying my hair this morning and accidently stuck my finger into the metal cover where the element is at the end. . . . now that sure is s.m.r.t.
  19. all sounds good to me. i'll keep looking around for a good set up.
  20. a guy i know. . . lol i'll polish it this weekend hopefully and fingers crossed it turns out alright. if not. . .re-spray eventually.
  21. well. i just want to remove the stock spring and replace them with something that a) improves handling b) lowers it but c) isnt quite as low as those photos. because, too much popo attention would be attracted. i realise I'm a girl and could possibly get away with more than a guy re: legality of car related shit. BUT thats just too damn obvious. I'm used to bone jarring suspension because i have friends with coilovers hard as rocks. that doesnt really seem to bother me. what way should i go for better handling? and more control? thanks for your advice!
