oh k, i will go buy a wire wheel then from mitre 10. anyone know what these cost? i have some more fotos, that i took of when the whole front was off (like the bumper and stone guard thingy) ill try and post them up tonight. have planned to do this on monday so ill take pics of it and stuff. how shuld i finish it? after welding. i have some galvanise paint, shuld i paint that on and then just spray matt black back over it? or use nikki/bog? etc. i used a bit of cutting compound on the bonnet and it shinned up really wel. might give her a wash and wax, make her look more respectable. i took off all the gay mud guards and silver strips that were on the wheel arches. anyone know the best way to get rid of 20yr old sticky cheese glue? thanks fellas

oh k well ill see what i can do. might try and tackle it this afternoon. ill probably remove the bumper and most of the front and try and get a better view and take sum pics. anything else i need to consider? when i cut the rust back do i need the wire wheel, or can i use grindind.cutting discs? yew!

oh sweet!! I'm all excited now.. maybe the ole' girl will last another yr of rego! woowoo!! will tackle this at the end of next week. when welding, what precautions do i take-for the cars sake.. disconnect batterey and thats it?? sweet

hmmm ok.. it dusnt seem too bad then. ill try and get more pics in the daylight. can the welding be dun with an arc weldeR? cus i have one of those.. anything else i shuld know? this wil prob be my first rust fix job, and it seems like its a semi major part of the car, so what else shuld i know? anyone else have rust in this same spot? thanks

I'm pretty sure its not allowed on the road, but i have a good friend who passes it for rego. but i think its getting to the stage where if I'm in an accident and insurence finds out then I'm screwed. wil post more pics. ciao!

stock supra rims fit. but i think maybe on the back u need spacers, cus they rub the struts. look over on toymods (www.toymods.org.au) I'm pretty sure people have chucked those rims on their ke70-hell i was even looking at a pair for mine. keep-it-real!

Is it then right to say that a can fit a 4age into my ke70, using the standard 4 speed?? i thought i had to get a different G/B if i wanted a 4age swap.. if that statement is correct this opens a whole new gameplan..

yeh 2T's did come in TA22's but they were the non-efi version. they were juts the 2tg.. although I'm looking for a 2tgeu, which is efi and better.. ive looked around and second hand u can buy 2tgeu, with loom, ecu and T50 G/b for bout 600.. thats not bad Felix: you are saying that t18's (a celica??) have similar floorpan to a ae86, and in turn ae86's have similar floorpan to ke70's etc. would it be right then to say that a T18 crossmember wuld fit into a ke70? or be an almost fit with very little modding? schweeet!

ok here are the piccys the first is of the front left wheel, and the rust(in the second pic) is to the left of the "hook" style thing that u can see in the first pic this is the rust spot on the left and semi above of the "hook" thing first second this next one is from the top, looking in between the radiator and the grill, towards the bottom right, in the corner third ok now these next 2 are like on the right, below the battery (should be able to work it out cus of where the radiator is) forth fith can it recieve kemo?(grinder and welder eh eh eh ) yo!

well i have semi made my mind up, as the 2t, and 3t engines have pretty good power outputs, and can also handle a little bit of boost-if i decide to turbo.. i have read about making a "hybrid", using 2t with 3t internals etc so I'm trying to source a 2tgeu, as i have also read that a stock engine with 2 inch zorst and nice set of extractors can make rufly about 124HP, which is i think is about 92Kw. thats quite respectable. well better than the ole' 4k, which is pushing like 44hp. so does anyone know what 2ts sell for? and what G/B fits up---is it a T series?? thanks guys AUF WEDERSEN!(german)

don't think this has been covered, i have semi searched for info but havent found anything solid like the 4age swaps, but have been searching for other options for the ke70 engine swap, and had heard of using a 2g? or 2tg (and 3g or 3tg???) anyone seen these done? do these engine have respectable outputs?.. just want sumthing better than the ole' 4k :D as long as the price range is alright, and its a crossflow type engine, I'm sure it can have more potential than the 4k.. would like to know everyones opinions... holla!

yeh, but i don't have room in the street mainly... plus I'm attached to this fine example of toyota art... its lovely curves..(if it has any???) and the colour of its eyes (hedlights r all cheesy heh) ... but room is the main problem.. plus people wil complain if i have not one, but 2 cars on the street that I'm working on.. pics shuld be up tonight.. holla!

has anyone ever looked at paseo seats? i saw sum at the wreckers, cus a totalled paseo was in front of a rolla, so i thought i wuld have a look, and those seats r quite 'buckety'. wouyldnt mind finding out if they fit, cus they r sexc seats.. ill post a pic if i can find one..

hey fellas, just a little help on what to do here. i own a ke70, and there is probably not one inch of body rust anywhere! which is great, although when i was changeing the radiator, i noticed on the right, bottom, bellow say the bottom orange indicator (or wateva it is) a huge amount of BAD rust.. wen i say bad i mean bad... like I'm almost 80% sure its structual rust, but i think it might be possible to fix it. rego runs out in november, so i have kinda til then to fix it all up. the way i look at it, is, to fix it up ide have to take out all radiator, supports, bumper- basically the front of the car.. now i could grind it back and then manufacture or, from a donar car, re-weld back on the peice thats rooted. what does everyone think? cus i love this car, I'm attached and i want to fix it up, but this is probably the only thing thats holding me back.. hope to hear good news... p.s. wil post pics soon

there is taco bells is australia. well there is in sydney.. never been to them... i think ide rather the aussies meat pie than sum thing made with 50 types of beans which will make me shit for the next 3 days straight.. and besides tacos alwayd break and shit... long live the meat pie!! :y:

hey guys. my ke70 is making a funny noise. it happeneds wen i go over bumpy road or like if the back bounces around a bit. its a squeeking noise, and i can tell it has to do with the suspension. its coming from the rear behind me wen i drive, so back right? i thought maybe a worn shock absorber? anyone else had the same problem before? and is there anyway to determine that this is the cause? cheers
