  1. G`day mate, you`re a hard one to convince aren`t you. The 3k needs at least rings. The same as you were told when I advertised it and the same as when you bought it from my son.

The engine will never run correctly until the rings are replaced. It burns oil like there is no tomorrow.

    Get it,,,,got it,,,,good.

  2. Yeah i was thinking of doing that. I have a mate who works in that type of business anyways. I just didn't know about the spring locators so i didn't want to go through with it. Do i need anything other than that?

If all i need is the blocks and u-bolts to suit however low i go, then i'll just do that.

I wouldn`t go any more than 50 mm using lowering blocks. Larger ones put a lot of strain on the u-bolts and can break them. Other than that its a pretty simple operation to put them in if you raise the rear end off the ground and do them while its up there. Don`t tighten the u-bolts until both blocks are installed or you may have trouble aligning the second spring. Good luck and cheers.

  3. G`day mate, go to your local bloke that sells steel. Ask them for two lengths of 50 x 50 x 6 RHS cut to the length you want. You will have to drill a centre bolt hole for the spring locaters. Then go to any suspension shop and buy a set of U-bolts to suit. (possibly a trailer shop)Problem solvered. Cheers.

  4. G`day mate, what Evan said. Its gotta have a vacuum leak somewhere. Get a can of wd40 or similar, start the engine and start squirting around the manifold to head area. Then the carby base etc. You will see the spray dissapear and also get smoke from the exhaust. Check your brake booster for audible leaks too and also check the pcv valve to see that the valve is still working. (take it out and blow/suck the tube. It should only work one way.)

    Good luck and cheers.

P.S. if you did the timing recently check that you didn`t accidently damage the vaccuum advance tube.

  5. Looking good Steve, I`m glad to see the old girl getting the attention she deserves. Keep up the good work. Blame my son for the tight bumper bracket bolts. He`s a gorilla with a spanner in his hand.

    Cheers.

  6. G`day mate, what Evan said except, buy a workshop manual and install the clutch yourself. It a simple enough job if you can follow instructions and have a basic tool kit.

It`s good to learn and never have to pay workshop prices again.

    Cheers.

  7. Actually after this past trip I really want a kayak!!

What about I sell you my enclosed canadian canoe?????

Person in the front, person in the back and storage in the middle.

I think 16 feet long with paddles seats and home made outrigger.

Bout $600.00 should own it. And an extra $200 will get you the 50 lb thrust electric outboard too.

    Cheers.

  8. and I thought I was being stealthy.

I made a trip up to Oakey to go to my accountant. Signed off on 2 years of tax returns and bas documents.

Where did you guys see me? Old fella that was probably the most photographic detail ever delivered in a spotted thread response. Well done. :laff:

You were cruising along the Gatton bypass just before the Toowoomba end heading west.. I was in my white landcruiser 60 and you passed me with ease.. Your passenger had feet on the dash. (tut tut)

    Cheers.

  9. Spotted a pretty good looking ae71 along the Warrego Highway yesterday. White with brown (bronze) front end. Nice stance, wide mags and possibly spacers. Didn`t make much of an exhaust note and didn`t have a huge tail pipe but seemed to accellerate well from 80 to 100 kph. No visible rust in the usual places.

    Cheers.

  10. Thanks guys.

The wivenhoe dam was at 185% last night and they had no choice but to release 600,000+ megalitres daily of water from the gates.

My house is now under which is very upsetting as yesterday I grabbed stuff that would of been affecte if we had an 18m flood which was predicted, now my bike, fridge, washing machine, kids health records and baby details books, sons first school bag an stuff for school, my 4age (on stand), all my toyota mechanical books, my limited editition gamecube, xbox 1 (I could sit here all day) are all going to be f@$ked, it is going to be very depressing to go through it all and throwing it away.

Thing that really shits me is that I have only just finished paying off my fridge, there is another 2000 bucks that I don't have.

Jeez Trev, what can I say. If its any help I`ve got a couple of camping fridges up her that you can borrow until you get on your feet. For that matter I have a camper trailer and all of my camping gear too. It would easily accomodate you and your family if you can`t move back into your house for a while. Getting it all to you could prove a challenge but I`m sure we could work something out eventually.

In the mean time, keep your chin up mate. You`ve got a great bunch of friends in Rollaclub and we won`t let you down.

    Cheers. Trev.

  11. I am back from a failed car tow at Rocklea which has left dads truck hydrolocked and stuck in the Lindsay Bros depot, was fun to walk through water up to my armpits, I don't have time right now to upload pics and what not as I have come home to get a few more things and go to higher ground since the Police were here earlier to say evacuate so I will talk to you guys when I can get back.

Good luck Trev ad stay safe. See ya when its all over.
