hey hey......just thought i'd add my 2 cents.....cha ching!!!
i'm in the process of rebuilding a 5k engine for my rolla with a genuine 3k big port head.....aparently it was one that was made for the british rollas....it hasnt been ported out at all, its still got the casting marks on the inside of the ports...but it is MUCH bigger.....the price for doing up this head is going to be $450 for new everything more or less......and to port and polish it....thats right i'm going to port it out bigger again.....:D:D
but to rebuild the engine itself its gunna cost me about $700 including boring out and new pistons....so thats another idea for ya....only bought the engine for $50...

first of all......my mags took me about 3 days to do all 4.......and after that my hands were rooted....
some mags have a clear coating on them to keep their shine......this is what mine had on them, although the coating had gone all yellow with age......i finally worked out after trying sandpaper and steelwool that using paint stripper worked.....that stuff is excellent......:D.....then i cut and polished them with a drill buff......and then after that used a product called "bright shine", it comes in a yellow tin and you can get it from supercheap....i wouldnt go past a product called "autosol metal polish" as well.
:D :) :)

Hey fellas......on the weekend i picked up a 5k engine out of the trading post....i knew it was rooted...the fella i bought it off said that he thought it was a blown head gasket......so i took the head off as soon as i got home and sure enough number one cylinder was all pitted......so i'm thinking hmmm.....if i bore it and take it out as far as it will go i might have a 5K to chuck into my car.... :D still got alot of work to do on it......however i was going to ask does anyone know how far a 5K engine will bore out to......it's got me a little worried.....the piston caps have stamped in the top 0.50......i think the standard bore size on them is 80.5 mm.....any help would be awesome....
i also picked up a 3k Big bore head...... :) i'm not gunna say how much i paid for it though......hehehehe.......i got it off a mate.....so with the 3K big bore head on the 5K block i'm thinking it will go alright......:)...

yeah it's pretty noticable at even 60ks' however she has been wanting air con for so long she doesnt care......as someone said the other day......u want power u have your finger over the aircon button......anytime u need power u just turn the aircon off for a bit.....:ninja:

i think instead of following teddys idea and add 70 kilos of aircon piping and shit.....i'll just suffice with my 4 x 100 air conditioning......4 windows @ 100km/h......:ninja: :)......no offence intended.....

if it is real........least they were considerate and put both the cars on jack stands.....better than the spare.....:ninja:

I have a mate that has somehow stuffed the banjo diff in a KE30. We will have to change the diff, however the diff we are thinking of putting in is out of a KE55 which is a salisbury diff.......can anyone tell me if the diff will fit straight in.....??
