  1. Hi, soon i should have a ke72 wagon.

i just wanted to know some info, ke70-72 wagon is there any differences?

and is there any difference between the sedans and wagons. other than the body shape :P

later on i would like to do an engine conversion, ive seen alot of posts about ke70 conversions but i wasnt sure if there was any differences between the 70-72/sedan-wagon.

  2. ive just replaced the rings and pistons in it. also i took the admission unit off and blocked the steel tube that runs under the exhuast. could that have anything to do with my problem.... ill go have a look at the PCV and see if its blocked

    Cheers Zac

  3. same here! i adjusted the accelerator cable so it had some slack on it and then i couldnt start it, soo as it did start bang 3 grand.

it makes no sense! it was running sweet before, i didnt play around with any vaccum lines etc etc then things like this happen....

I checked all my hoses they seem to be in the right places, i ended up wiring the dashpot/butterfly leaver together to keep the butterfly open.... seemed to sort the problem out.

maybe give that a go dude

  4. +1 i got the same problem with my 4k carby, its hard to start. when it starts it revs to 2 grand, blimp the trottle and it goes all the way up to 5 grand?

i think it has to do with the dashpot?

similar problem, never used to do it till i took the carby/manifold off and put it back on.

  5. hey, would anyone know why my auto choke would be making the car rev right up(like 5k+ revs) when its cold.

If i hold the little arms/leaver(circle in picture) down to keep the butterfly open it seems to rev alright..... if i don't hold the leaver down the butterfly closes and the car wants to rev out till its warm. i had the carby off the car a while ago while i was doing some work to the motor. not sure if all the hoses are in the correct spots.

    Cheers Zac

  6. That's pretty much it. With the 3TC, under the exhaust manifold is a pipe that taps into the head underneath each exhaust runner. that will need to be blocked off somewhere, and pretty much all the piping that links between it and the carby can be removed, including that pump thats running off the crank.

    sweet cheers people.

  7. Coming to perth any time soon? Currently own 4 T18s and have stacks of parts for them... Other option if you wanna have some more fun and rev harder is a 2TG will bolt straight in too... gotta love the twin cam engines.

Also, if you swap the gearbox too... can slot in a RWD 4AGE so long as you use the T50 for it, as they have different output splines on what is otherwise the same box.

Awesome your a champ ill be in perth this weekend and next weekend, I plan on putting a 4age in when i can afford it. just wanna get it driveable for now.

send me and email with your details and ill come have a look what you got on the weekend.

    cheers man.

  8. Cheapest option would probably be a 3T-C

If you say which state you are in someone might see it and be able to help you... although a wtb thread in the classifieds section would have been more appropriate.

I'm having trouble finding a 3tc over here in West Oz. so i was looking for another cheap option. :P

  9. Hey people,

I got a 1980 t18 lift back with a 3t-c motor and a 5 speed manual gearbox. Does anyone know what motor will bolt staight in, because the motor in mine is blown and i just wanna get it up and running for the moment so i can drive it. Cheapest option possible at the moment.

    Thanks
