Make a heat shield to shield the starter from the heat from ur exaust manifold. Its a comin problem apparently in the old corolla's. Wiring is a quick fix too as rain just talked about. (works but dodgy as...)

Hi i just bought a new cluster of ebay, and finally got around to installing it. I have a 78 ke55 se, the gauges are a lil different to my original. My main drama is the speedo connection that plugs into the the speedo cable isnt the same as my original..... The original is longer and the newie is shorter and wont plug in or push the pin fully in. Whatr can i do? Also, the new speedo goes to 160km/h when my original goes to 180k...... My fuel and temp gauges don't seem to be working on the original and the speedo gets stuck on 4o at idle there fore I'm going 25-30 k under speed when driving. HELP PEOPLES!
