  1. cheers for that, i'm used to forums that require mod assistance there, i'm prepared to travel but the biggest issue is i want to tune it myself and most places with a dyno aren't happy with that bit. Worst case i'll track tune the non PE/boost enrich map and hire out a dyno on hourly rate for what pulls With regards to weight i think it's going to come in around 900Kg i'll get it on the scales once i finish tidying up the last few pieces
  2. how i got it the car has changed quite a bit in a few of the pics should be ready for some track testing in about a month, biggest problem to date is needing a dyno
  3. if possible could a mod please add on the end of the thread title "(pics inside)" thanks here are a few more build pics rear sump and powerglide initial boot setup while it was all going together, it's a little cleaner now and my track day shirt
  4. cheers man, once the loose ends are tied up i promise some decent quality videos :) the car retains its factory ECU and i use a separate interface to reprogram, the software you saw on the laptop was a data logger just to make sure on the test drive my AFR's were safe
  5. could someone keep an eye out for some guards the same colour as my car as well, bit over the black replacements i'll post some updates soon just organising a lot of electrical finishers and the last bit of fabrication before i can get onto tuning some e85 and 840cc injectors

  7. the whole car start to where it is now is 3 months hoping to push a lazy 300rwkw on 7psi
  8. sounds good, i'll keep an eye out, with regards to mine it's kind of ironic that the whole build took 3 months 29 days and i've spent a week figuring out why my ecu wont activate my thermos hope to get it on the dyno in the coming weeks and get some good footage
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3D9m4g2v5w&feature=youtu.be sorry about my mate who decided to stand in front of the camera but you get the idea, i'll get some more vids up once i get tuning
  10. probably track it, i did want to build it so it looked fairly factory, without the rad you can't tell it has this setup in it as above, bit of track work might take it onto the strip but hopefully i get some decent powerskids out of it cheers man hows yours coming along? when i started your engine was just going in
  11. gen 3, gt42 turbo, powerglide and hilux diff cheers for the comments
  12. just got this started on the weekend thought i'd show you guys a few happy snaps excuse the mess like i said i just started it
  13. The answer is 770mm, and I required it asap because I had a radiator shipped for free from queensland and there was no point if it did fit
  14. lets simplify this for some of the challenged ones the question was, what is the distance between the two rails you have 1 of 2 options you can, a) provide the answer b) hit the back button if you do not have the answer
  15. can you suggest how i'd do that while I'm at work?
  16. just wondering if anyone has the measurement for the width from inside chassis rail to inside chassis rail, wondering how wide a radiator i can fit into the ke tried a search but no luck
  17. on the bright side you've inspired me to rape the shit out of my firewall and put an engine through it, my biggest worry was the steering rack and column clearances
  18. how are you going to seal the void where your steering column goes through the fire wall, seeing as the factory cover they use won't fit
  19. haha thats pretty awesome the down side is though, fairly unlikely i'd be able to find one, and if i do i'll be charged a overrated, and its probably going to break fairly quickly so that leads me back to a basic live axle setup, i'm really just after a budget diff that can handle a bit of power and can be spooled i hear a bit about hilux diffs being used for this sort of application, can anybody shed any light on models? really appreciate the input too guys very helpful
  20. bold words there are key, i have the driveline sorted all except for the diff although it doesn't make any sense at the moment and i completely understand how retarded this project sounds, all I'm after is a little direction with regards to the differential options the aim of my entire build here is: budget street driven easily replaceable parts (both sources and cost) camry is $300 max the mods to suit the new drive line are a once off and the fabrication side of things is done in house so it doesn't cost a lot (really only my time) the reason i was leaning towards a vn diff is because they are worth about $50, easy to source, easy to repair and as it turns out appear to be 10mm wider each side than a standard camry rear (nearly perfect) i just wanted to get some ideas before i committed to it because i know a lot of random Toyota stuff is interchangeable which does save a lot of trouble
  21. ahhh awesome this is the stuff I'm talking about, i plan to use the car as a track pig/skidder and was thinking the live axle would be easier to set up. i'm not familiar with the gt4 stuff have you got a link i can read up on the car about? i think tercel gear would be a bit hard to source but i'm considering the 4wd corolla rear end as a good idea (seen lots in the wrecker the other week). How much power do the corolla rear ends manage? just checked out my mates 4wd corolla wagon and its got a live axle in it :S
  22. Hi there, i'm needing to put a differential in the rear of an SV21 camry, now i'm trying to organise a factory diff to fit under the car my preferences are: easy access to replacements affordable prices (no more than a few hundred) i have measured the diff to be around 1530mm (disc face to disc face) the style of diff that comes to mind to suit my project is vn (i think it may be a little too wide haven't had the chance to measure one) i am very open to options anyone has to offer as i know a lot of the guys and girls on here a fairly creative Thanks in advance
  23. thats sweet man i've never seen a wagon in real life, only utes, sedans and coupes i get a lot of people nearly side swiping me just because they wanna check this thing out cause of how old it looks its a good laugh
  24. its a daily, no one has respect for cars these days so why bother investing money on looks i'll invest my money into driveline paint is very ordinary but overall the car is in one piece and surprisingly everything still works
