Teddy Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 Hey all Just a question about valve springs in K motors, (could be in other motors as well) I have seen some valve springs which look like '2' springs intertwined into one, is this just a cheap way to make valve springs extra strong ? or is there some sort of other explanation for this? Thank you in advance :P Ted Quote
Medicine_Man Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 They call them double valve springs matt, stronger than the stock item.. Quote
Teddy Posted September 5, 2004 Author Report Posted September 5, 2004 ah ok, thanks for that :P Quote
Redwarf Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 Teddy, valve springs should also be matched to the camshaft as well. Sometimes double valve springs are the answer to prevent valve bounce, alhough on mine I have single valve springs from a hot holden 202 blue motor (apparently). Don't ask me how they come to this answer, someone with a bit more technical knowledge than myself (Doug?) maybe able to answer this. I've seen the equation, but that's about it... Hope this helps.... R Quote
