engines do this thing, it's called wear. that leaves behind metal, in small pieces, some of which pass through your oil filter, most of which don't and eventually you need to replace that filter

 

if you're going to say it's bad to have bits of impurities inside the engine, and only half-dead engines have them anyway, then why do you need an oil filter at all?

 

you filter shit out your oil cos it's bad for the engine. anything that can help that filtration process is aok with me :doublebird:
