KE30_KE35_KE55
In SA a fog light is fine for use in fog conditions if set to shine a beam along the road, sometimes spot lights/ driving lights are just fitted in the bumper . if lights shine above a certin height they are deemed to be spotlights and must wired up to only come on with high beam, a vehicle could be defected for this.
thomo
spot lights must be wired to high beam, if mounted above headlamp hight must have solid covers over them to prevent use (unless on private property, like a bong, not illegal to have just illegal to use) fog lamps can be wired stand alone, but YES its illegal to use them in any conditions other than fog, this includes any on the rear (read that twice if you have an excel and like blinding the driver behind you) the principle is if it makes it brighter for you, its that much more blinding for the oncoming car, and that 2 foot wider bright spot on the road you see is a 5 meter high glare on the windscreen of that oncoming car on a rainy night
